Emily was an amazing PG against lesser quality teams and extremely limited against better quality teams. The JJ Quinerly's of the world have mostly run circles around her for the past 5 years. That was a MAJOR contributor explaining why we had only a single Quad 1 win this year.
We need multi-faceted basketball players. Our team this year was mostly one-dimensional players. Audi has great hands and hard to step within 4 feet of the basket...but limited at most other aspects of the game. Others...
- Harris (great 3-pt shooter, but very slow and a turnover machine if she attempts to dribble)
- Hansford (single-purpose spot-up shooter that had a horrible shooting year)
- Joens (hustle player and 3-pt shooter, almost no ball-handling ability)
- Tanke (3-pt shooter, not a ball-handler and too slow to guard in the Big 12)
When watching Michigan (and most other top 25 teams this year), I saw teams that had multiple players that can shoot, dribble/penetrate, play defense, and run the court. We looked slow and struggled with way too many turnovers against these teams because we don't have multiple ball handlers.
