No, I was clearly implying that Audi/Addy = Lee/Sundell and in order for ISU over the next two seasons to match or exceed what KSU has accomplished this season, ISU will need to improve Audi/Addy’s supporting cast through recruiting/development and coach them up. And I question it will get done.
Without the last sentence you were doing so well…

I will miss Emily Ryan, I think knows the game really well and would go on 5 minute stretches where she could take over a game.

But I just have to disagree with anyone who thinks we will automatically have a downgrade in PG. This team is still playing if the Drake or UNI PGs.

The defensive game plan this year was pretty simple - stay in front of Emily and Addy and if the ball stops, they’re passing to Audi. Got to get a PG that can score off the dribble
Wonder if the UNI PG would like to do grad school at ISU? Not sure if she's a Sr or not but she always balls out against ISU.

Do you really think TCU put this roster together without NIL payment. All 5 starters transfers from high major schools

That was the point I was making and got called out for it…apparently (no source provided) they all came of their own free will with zero enticements. I don’t have proof otherwise, but would seriously doubt it. Just an opinion.

I have been pondering the team all year. Going back to watch the early games, like the loss to UNI, the lack of speed and conditioning. That is something that the teams needs to work on this off season.

As for the team, if they stay we will get back Kinze which will help with the 3 pointers.

Looking at the two incoming freshmen, we will a PG and another 3 pointers shooter (if her European game can transfer).

The offense is missing movement and someone besides Addy that can drive to the basket. If we can find someone in the portal who can either play good defense or help driving in as a 3 while Addy is the four (or vise versa) it would be huge.

Right now I see the starting 5 as
AJ
Kenze
Kelsey
Addy
Audi

The question around this time of year now is who stays and who leaves.

Possible ones leaving:
Lily H
Lily T

I think once Lily V committed it drew other talent.

Can't speculate, don't know what's going on in the TCU lockerroom.

The team needs to get tougher and more athletic Period
And more movement, more speed, better conditioning, something new on offense, more ball handlers... All of this is a coaching issue...not the kids and not the NIL. The NIL is an issue for most WBB programs, not all, but most to some degree.

I saw a female talking head the other day saying to reach her full potential Crooks needs to transfer to someplace like South Carolina. Basically said she’s being babied here and with the right conditioning she could become a force someday in the WNBA. I’m hoping Audi takes those words to heart and decides to prove them wrong and does what’s needed right here in Ames. I mean let’s be honest how many third team all Americans have you seen that allows the person she’s defending to shoot uncontested jumpers inside the free throw line?

I keep hoping that what we saw (lack of defensive movement) late in the season was due to her apparent leg injury. 100% agree with further conditioning and foot work practice on D. She already is a force on offense and showed the ability to grow by developing a short range jump shot/fade last off season. She improved her free throw shooting dramatically throughout this season and I expect that to continue in the off season. I’m excited to see what new skills she adds to her toolbox for next year. We already know she's not afraid of the hard work.

It's a touchy subject. I agree she certainly seems somewhat babied here and sort of said as much in pointing out in my opinion she seems to be treated like a diva. I am not expecting much change, just a more experienced version of what you see now is what you will see over the next two years. Expecting big changes from her or a coach in his late 60's seems unlikely.

Good news is unless a few teams get a significant makeover in the portal season Iowa State just needs to hold place. I expect the league to be significantly weaker in 2025-2026. A couple of weaker teams are getting some ranked HS recruits but overall the league has not recruited well after the last remake.

That may be the case but in todays world if you do not have the money to match other suiters you need to make them so comfortable here that they do not look / want to leave.
