Nick Babb

No offense to Chris or Nick, but I don't see why we are going after him. We didn't recruit him hard in high school, and he did nothing his freshman year that stands out.
 
They might want him to run with some of the players and if they say he can play they may offer. He may be visiting without an offer at this point.

Maybe your assessment of how the staff felt previously is off?

We had some interest before. Why not have him come up and decide based on that? Does not hurt either party, and may help Babb regardless of whether an offer is made.

I think part of it could be that ISU has more available scholarships right now, and may want to balance classes a bit. Also, it's not like he has a scholarship offer right now. They may want to work him out and see if he's worthy.
 
This is a Justin Edwards situation. He'll visit and scrimmage with the team. If he impresses, he'll get an offer and likely accept it. If not, we'll thank him and move on.

Personally, I bet we take him.
 
I hope it works out. His brother was a great cyclone, and I hope he has the talent to be a cyclone as well.
 
I say it's definitely worth a try. I'd love to see us get a defender that was as fast as Chris was. Naz, Matt, and Monte are good but still seem to spend most of the time chasing instead of being between their guy and the basket. Then Naz and Matt are too tired to hit the three's and Monte would walk the ball up the court which hurt our pace of play.

Yeah, I know there's no guarantee he's fast like Chris. And that I'm no expert on defense. Just saying, another Chris Babb caliper would help us a lot. Hopefully genes will triumph if we give them a chance.

Good catch. I got tired of checking the spell check after it tried to change three's to there's.

ps, still on iPad so can't copy/paste, but Bleacher Report has us fourth in next year's top 25 because our "big man Justin McKay" will get to play a whole year next year. Do you suppose he's a relative of Jameel's? Ha ha.

Don't see why people think he'd be a bad pickup? We can't have 15 starters. You need players to develop. He had offers, and wanted to stay south. He has good size and ability. Comes from a good family.
 
Diallo apparently out the door, seems like Fred is after bodies. Hopefully we can find a big to fit in there as well.
