Nick Babb

Read my post above. I think Travis isn't interested in us. I also agree RV is a loooong shot.

AMA talked highly about us in a recent article and O'Mara would be a possibility. Long way to go between now and then and back to back tourney's will help

Also help with the Gophers losing to Nebby...talk about a letdown after that Indiana game.

It's one of those things. I doubt Chris Babb would be a guy I would recruit heavily out of High School if I were Hoiberg, but dang, I would love him on my team. I assume it's the same with Nick Babb. You just can't assume that Nick will be a dominatrix like Chris.
FIFY

aka, back up plan. Don't get me wrong, I'd love another Babb. But we still have our fishing line out there for some bigger fish.

Yes, EVERYONE understands Vaughn is the big fish. Do we have to keep repeating that any other G/ SG is a backup plan?? It's understood that Vaughn is the priority.

Nick was doing the typical visit stuff tonight. On the court with the team before game, into the locker room, etc.

It's kind of different b/c 2014 doesn't have a lot of spots for us and we are up with some big names. But boy you'd hate to miss out on another Babb. It's kind of like the Knott's.....it was SLIGHTLY easier to see Jake go, knowing that Luke is coming in.

Actually, I was referring to a lot of the big guys we are after plus vaughn. Vaughn was an afterthought in my comment. We are in on some big time talent everywhere with only so many schollies, not just RV. But Nick if your reading this, ISU is the place to be. Happy?

I'd definitely take another kid like Chris if he has the game to play at this level.

I just think a kid like Chris would want to transfer from ISU after one year if he was initially recruited to ISU. He was somewhat of a developmental guy that ended up a total stud. I don't see ISU having many guys like that with the way they're recruiting. I doubt this staff would've ever given Chris a scholarship but a weaker bball school like Penn State took a chance on him. I guess we will see what happens to Okoro and Long after this year. Obviously they like SDW since they asked him to redshirt.

I could see that guy doing the keep-feeding-me hand gesture after draining a 3.

Yeah, for sure. Problem is, if you take Nick at this point, you're assuming he will have the same development curve that Chris had. If he develops at a slightly smaller rate, he doesn't play at a NCAA tourney level. It's a difficult prediction to make.

You're right on Doc.

Also, the expectations for Nick (if he ends up here) have been made up arbitrarily by us fans based on Chris. And that's not necessarily fair.

We have so many offers for two schollys on 2014. Would love to have another Babb but I think we will end up passing.

Travis isn't happening from what I've heard.

AMA would be an even bigger get though. O'Mara would be another good one

I've heard the same. As in almost no interest on his part. That was a good month ago, however, and may be bogus info.

Odds are if ISU doesn't offer him/he doesn't sign here, he still ends up in Big 12 territory.

I like his shot has a pretty good handle, put some weight and muscle on him and I think he could develop into a good player. I think we should be taking a hard look at Nick.
