NFL playoffs

They could have conceivably won the championship the year they lost to the Bengals in the arctic.

Otherwise, they haven't ever really been that close.

They made the SBowl in 94 and are 1-3 in AFC championship games.

They just exist.
I'm not snarking at you here...

With the weather in that SD/Cincy game being so brutal, the narrative is that it's a major catalyst for keeping the high flying Chargers out of the SB. The Bengals beat them 40-17 earlier that year in San Diego when it was 65 degrees and little wind.

Maybe under normal conditions while getting a 2nd crack at em' things could have been different. Who knows? From a historical perspective that 1st match-up in San Diego is not well known, or forgotten about, or overlooked for some reason.

Marty Schottenheimer was fired from SD after a 14-2 season where a DB didn't have the presence of mind to just take a knee after a late-ish INT vs Tom Brady. That franchise might still be deserving of this bad and then some.

This has more to do with TV timeslots than the NFL I suppose, but I always felt it was odd to not have both #1 seeds play on Saturday of the divisional round. They've had their rest and could possibly catch an opponent from wildcard weekend on a short week by 1 day. Then if the 1 seeds win, they get the extra day to prep for the CCGs. Last year I believe both 1 seeds were playing on Saturday but in years past, its been a mixed bag of Sat & Sun games.

I wish they’d just do sat/sun, each conference gets a day. Rinse and repeat next week.

Cowards, 5 mins of review to give offsetting PF's. Allen should at least get one, if it's the other way around and the d lineman takes that cheap shot he's getting flagged.

Dealing with Jerry or not, the Chargers isn't a better job than Dallas.

Agree. Chargers roster is better, but being in the NFC with a declining/retiring Rodgers/Brady is better than signing up for 10 years going against Mahomes, Allen, Burrows, Lawrence, Jackson.
