I loved the home-and-home with Michigan. I think the BYU one will turn out to be fun, too.

Where should Fred look next?

I'm thinking UCLA. Bring Alford to Hilton.

MINNESOTA needs to happen. It is a natural geographic rivalry.

But personally I would like to see:
Ohio State
Indiana
Syracuse
Duke
UNC

Give me any relevant team from the Midwest except for Wisconsin.

Mizzou.

I don't care that they left the conference, it's time to get that back up and running.

I agree with Minnesota; I think Cyclone fans would head up to the Twin Cities for that game nicely if we got it scheduled on a December Saturday. Illinois would be the same way.

I think Creighton would be fun too, although McDermott probably has no interest in that.

Midwest teams are great but nobody really cares about them outside of us and that fan base. Playing a UNC/Syracuse type deal would be more appealing on a national level...I'm more for matchups that are going to generate buzz on a national scale. Give me UNC/Indiana/Marquette

Otherwise: Minnesota/Wisconsin/Missouri would be okay for a non-conference game.

The home-and-home worthy teams in that circle (excluding Indiana and Ohio because they're too far away and your Ohio bias is showing :realmad:):

Creighton
Nebraska
Mizzou
St. Louis
Illinois
Northwestern
Marquette
Wisconsin
Minnesota

I think Clone fans would make a day out of a trip to any of these locations, if the game was on a weekend without ISU football.

I would enjoy a few more road games in neighboring states like this sine all of our natural geographic rivalries ended with conference realignment. Creighton would be an easy trip for Cyclone fans to make :)

didnt we play Ohio State at Wells Fargo and Duke in Chicago during the McD years?

Would love to have pretty common rivalries with Minnesota and Missouri. Lots of home and homes that could be cool, but those two make great sense geographically.

Realistically though, I'm not sure how many high-major teams would want to play us in Hilton. That's why it's really important to get in a good tournament every year.

It's also why it wouldn't be a bad idea to play someone like those teams on a neutral floor that close to Ames, like the United Center or Sprint Center.
