It's a bit comical how people wet themselves over the '70s uniforms, yet none of the shades of gold matched each other back then (or in the '07 edition).

That's true, but at least the gold wasn't so yellow, like it is now. Not sure when that happened, it just seemed to get brighter and brighter, maybe in the 80's-90's, I don't know.

The mid 70's pant stripe was definitely a darker still, shade of gold, to contrast the pant gold. That's not unusual really. We currently have two official shades of gold. My opinion is that they are both just a little off, too yellow.

In it they seemed to hint that it could make a return this year.

I think they auctioned off the majority of the uniforms. If they wanted to wear them again they would need Nike to remake them.

Um, even if they hadn't... Do u really think they'd wear them again after being on mothballs for years? This is Division I football.

I'd lean more toward this idea but a matte black helmet instead. And then not a true black for any of the uniform, more like a charcoal.

Wait we have school colors? I thought we just changed them every other year. I've never seen a school change shades of colors more than Iowa State. I honestly have no Idea what is actually right, I know what I like, but everyone has a different opinion on what looks good, or is right.
