Between all the helmet stripe, yellow helmets, modified yellow/gold, red facemask discussions, I present you the official Cyclone Fanatic Alternate Uniform:

1990 throwbacks

(Just imagine the funnel is on the helmet). The jersey text is a little dorky, but I would be just fine with that!

Has Iowa State ever done gold-cardinal-cardinal … helmet-jersey-pants? It might’ve happened once in a while during Criner/Walden years when ISU had gold helmet, I don’t recall.

I was skeptical at first if I would ever like a y/r/r combo. CYCLNST8 got me thinking about it, as it is his favorite.

The top one is my favorite so far, the yellow numbers w/ white trim. Great suggestion! I thought it might be a bit too much added white, but it looks like perfection! IMO, of course.

We in all seriousness should submit all the uniform concepts and suggest they review the threads for the historic anecdotes we have already investigated on here. We have pretty much done their entire research job for them and supplied replicas. Give that to some dude that does this for a living and let him poop gold!

One other thing -- just noticed -- can you tweak the standard cardinal helmet so it has gold mask, instead of gray?

They probably have their design picked out for next year already.

One other thing -- just noticed -- can you tweak the standard cardinal helmet so it has gold mask, instead of gray?

Everyone has their opinion, and that's fine. I do prefer the slightly darker red.

I would like to see the I-State logo on one side of the helmet and the tornado on the other. I know it's more likely to be an alternate uniform but I like the idea of both on the helmet.
