After seeing the mock ups in here and in the tornado logo thread I am truly convinced that ISU has a horrible design and marketing department for the AD. Posters on CF can come up with much better uni's and secondary logo ideas without much effort. And yet the best the AD can come up with is Bucky Cy and bird head in a wreath and USC uniforms.
I Like the I State logo but Cyclones is such a unique nickname and the AD does not seem to embrace it.

I hate to ***** about this type of stuff, but I have to agree regarding the logos. They got it right, IMO, with the new primary logo. But the secondary logos are horrible. The cy face in a hurricane and bucky cy are garbage.
I liked the short-lived re-packaging/re-coloring of old Cy-in-blender, without any ******. Basically they took the old logo and removed the navy and 90s style ******. I think it was a much better secondary logo than what we have now, and it created a bridge to the past, somewhat softening the abruptness of the primary logo overhaul. And it incorporated our "cyclone" namesake (not a shape most associated with a hurricane).

the gold was kind of messed up the first time i posted...trying again.
I agree, probably my favorite secondary/mascot logo they've ever had. Takes the concept the of 90's logo set but cleans it up a great amount. Would look good on a gold helmet and as a small logo on the FB and BB pants/shorts. How the Cy head inside of a hurricaine is better is beyond me.

Totally agree with this. If these were the uniforms I think all future uniform threads would basically be over. Prefer the tornado on the helmet but I like the I State one as well. If I state being removed is off the table.....fine. How did the trice Unis start? Isu brass did not think of that by themselves. Right?

I'm with ya. The gold helmet with the gold pants combos are dynamite with either the white or red jerseys. After seeing these it's going to be hard to watch us in our current unis.

Then bring this logo back as a secondary logo.
On a side note I know that everyone here seems to really like the traditional gold, but I really don't think it ever happens. I think the key is to get a better gold yellow. It combines the gold that some want as well as the yellow some like. I just don't think the gold really works well without the tradition of that color.
That would be a good balance — deeper shade of yellow. Sort of mustard, maybe with hints of "gold flake." A happy medium on the cardinal would help, too. Keep the red from being too bright, but don't slide into maroon/burgundy.
Even though I'm 99.9% sure that Jamie is way WAY too stubborn to admit it, if he ever saw these uni's he would feel pretty dumb. These are high class and classic. Thank's and praise to amestoplease.
Guarantee he has/will see these. Let's hope that he realizes how much of a slam dunk the tornado logo is within the fan base.
No doubt the gold needs to have some yellow color to it, not the tan-gold. I'm getting addicted to looking at these uniforms. I can't go more than a few hours without getting another dose.
As awesome as these mock-ups are, I wouldn't get too excited - if we learned anything from the Jack Trice unis, if we decided to go with these, the execution of the game day uniform would be ****-poor.
