New Commit

OK all you Iowa State folks. It Kills me that Jeremy committed to the Cyclones. I am a Red Raider and would have loved to see him go to Tech. Until Early Feb There is still hope. So you guys keep calling him "Midget" and "Undersized".

What also surprises me is that folks have not been asking more questions on here about Jeremy and some of his background.
He is 5'6" to 5'7" and a solid 168. I will also tell you that he is one of the hardest hitting corners I have seen in Texas High school Football. He uses his speed and his head for the ball to anticipate and attack. Speed when properly directed is very very effective.

Everyone seems to be enamored with his speed so here are links to my video highlights that I have been doing for the last two years on Allen High School including Jeremy in his Jr. and Sr. year.

The video is not altered for speed but it looks like it. That is his speed when he puts it on overdrive.

Kris Lott Story from 2007. Jeremy gives away position but gets above the receiver. 6'6" receivers, I don't think he would care. ;)

I could go through my videos and give you guys all the good plays that Jeremy has had, but then that would take all the fun out of it for you all.

Congratulations Jeremy!!

Most of us are very excited about Jeremy, and I know the staff is. You can't coach speed.

Congratulations Jeremy!!

It is like anything else, the vocal minority is the one heard the most. Thankfully none of the yahoos on this message board who are questioning Jeremy's abilities are actual talent evaluators for out coaching staff.

If that was Jeremy at the 5 minute mark in the second video, then that boy has some serious hops! His kick return was unbelievable too.

I don't post on this site ever, but why do you post this crap you do realize anyone can read this. I bet you figured Seneca Wallace was to small to, I like this kid we could use his quickness welcome to the good guys Jeremy.

Agree...he's aboutl the same size as Ellis Hobbs when he came in. Speed and quickness is the most important.

Now you morons are laughable. That's enough. It stops now.

It doesn't take very much to know that on this site (aside from any topic regarding Brad Childress), I am always positive. I fight all of the negativity "sky is falling" idiots.

I love how you say you're always positive in a thread where you insult a recruit and call multiple other posters idiots. Amusing.

As for Reeves Chizik has coached the best in the backfield. If he thinks Reeves is good enough I'll defer to him.

No doubt. If he thinks he's always positive then he must be bi-polar.

I think that SOME peoples' first impression when they see that height is to worry about being abused by tall WRs. The thing is, the spread doesn't really feature the jump ball to the 6'5 WR as much. Most spread WRs are 6'2 or under and run quick routes. And the guys in the slot are usually under 6'0. There's definitely a place for Reeves in defending the spread.

Look at it this way, ISU is in on San Antonio James Madison's Andrew Green and Colleyville Heritage's Eddie Foster, not to mention another CB from Florida. All three are higher ranking recruits than Reeves with more impressive offer lists. There's no way ISU brings in more than two CBs. Yet they offer and accept a commitment from Jeremy Reeves? I think that says something about how much the coaches believe in his ability.

Yep, that is him alright. You have to see him operate to get a better sense for his talent at getting to the ball. He is really interested in defense and that is one of the main reasons that he committed to ISU. The head coach did a good job of recruiting.

I don't have any delusions that he will get tons of playing time as a freshman, but I can see him making an immediate impact on special teams.

Is this Allen the same one that was just profiled in SI for playing Prepa Tec, the Mexican team?

I think a lot of fans are excited about him coming. Some people get too caught up in height and weight. Players can play no matter their size.

Apparently you don't read very closely. What I'm curious about is why you feel a need to focus on insulting me, rather than commenting than the player? Feel free to actually disagree substantively instead of just running me down.

I'm glad we've got such an athletic player. However, for a full time corner, I hope we can land Andrew Green. Green reminds me a little of Ter'ran Benton.

I'm guessing you also leave at halftime to go drink a little more?

That's the one! You can watch my highlight video for the game here: Yep that's Jeremy at :55 taking a punt, muffing it, elluding several tackles and taking it back for a TD, again!!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zscsL6UvoeI"]Allen Tx vs Prepa Tec Mty Mexico[/ame]

Allen is currently #5 AP ranked team in Texas and the #20 ranked team in the National Prep Poll. Jeremy is a big part of the teams success. If he keeps his head straight this kid is the real deal.

I'm not saying he has any problems with ego because he doesn't. You know how college can make you go wild and do things you might not ordinarily do. Add on top of that the fame and adulation and it can mess with folks heads.

Bigdaddydog...

Appreciate the insight from someone who has watched Jeremy play extensively. Looking forward to seeing him in Ames!

Allen has he same fight song as us... Glad he'll be used to it.

Are you sure? I am 99.99 % sure it is Ohio State's fight song "Across the Field". Unless it is yours as well?

You are most welcome. I have a passion for football and also for the Allen kids. I like to see them get the recognition and opportunity I think they deserve.

Not all kids can get a ride at D1 and BCS schools, but you gotta love the underdog. You know when you see a kid with something special and you just want the best for them.

So what else are you guys looking for in players for the team:biggrin:?

Cheers,

~
