New Arrowhead?

Good on them.

The taxpayers basically just spent 3 billion to have a sports team move across the same town, they will be spending millions in maintenance, and they’ll “own” a facility that will need billions more in renovations at the end of that 30 years. They will NEVER break even on this, not even close.

Congrats to the reaidents who voted this abomination down.

Well, this is a take.

How long does the PSL last? 10k for a lifetime isn't really that bad. My sister and BIL have had season tickets for the last 5 years and I think they are like 2500/per including parking passes. I assume PSL would give you first crack at any event that goes on there too.

Paying 10k a seat just to be able to spend 3-4K on season tickets is not that bad? That about 20% of the median household income in KC.

Luckily for Missouri, their backwards politics are ensuring that they won't have to pay for stuff like this for a long time. My guess is that Kansas is working on the Royals too and I would also guess that they will get them.

Backwards politics? Mizzou politicians should be praised from the mountaintops.

It's not backwards politics. It's that the Missouri Constitution was built to give way more power to the people then Kansas. This type of deal could never happen in Missouri without a vote, and there is zero chance this deal would have passed the voters in either State.

And yes, if the Royals get a similar deal, they are gone as well. Why wouldn't they be? However, I'm not sure Kansas can afford it after this deal. The proposed district pretty much ate up the entire Kansas side of the metro, and there really isn't much left for the Royals.

Well, this is a take.
And I don’t think it’s a bad one. The question basically boils down to, is everything Kansas is giving up worth the civic pride of having the Kansas City Chiefs move across the border to play in your city/state when probably a significant minority of people already thought that they did? Sure, there will be a little financial offset by increased tax revenue from the team, but not a huge one compared to the amount of public money the chiefs are receiving.

I don’t think answering “no” is that bad of a take.

Yes, losing 3 NFL teams in my lifetime should be praised. Missouri is a dump, although I am extremely biased being from the Kansas side.

They “lost” the most recent one twenty miles away and saved between 2 and 6 billion in doing so.

LOL. All Kansas has is their side of the KCMO metro keeping them afloat. Wichita and Topeka are infinitely worse then anything in Missouri.

Lol, whatever gets you through the night.

The people of Kansas don't care about the money. The money is there in the bonds. They won't see any increase. Before we moved, our sales tax was almost 11% on everything, including groceries (that has changed). We could have cut this in half by moving to Missouri, but their schools are so bad that it wasn't ever on the table.

Missouri can tell themselves whatever they want to make themselves feel better, but this was a huge win for the great state of Kansas. Ad Aspera Per Aspera. Oh, and F KU for life.

If you felt like you wanted tickets for the next 30 years it's not terrible. I'm also single and without kids. I agree it's pretty steep for a lot. Either way people will still be able to get tickets off stub hub. Its all about supply and demand. People will buy those PSL's. Its almost too expensive to take a family to a game now.

I feel like all KCMO really has is the high rises and businesses downtown. Sure there are some nice parts of KCMO, but Johnson County is where people want to do business nowadays.

And Johnson County doesn't exist if it isn't for KCMO. Johnson County is simply newer. It's is to Dallas County as Jackson County is to Polk in the DM metro.

You seem to think I care whether it’s in KS or MO.

It’ll have zero effect on me personally. If I’m driving in KC I will never know when I cross from one side to the other. It’s just one blob of buildings to me.

Again, congrats on KS for the win. They get to pay between 2 and 6 billion for a stadium. The average fan won’t know the difference. Hopefully KCMO can find a way to help their residents with the tremendous savings they have now.

Kansas has been growing broke for years. Maybe the people should care about the money? Also, you have no idea if that money will be there in bonds, it's all predicated off predicted revenue. One thing seems to be true, any money generated from the Chiefs will go right back to the Chiefs. Kansas gets little to nothing from this other then the ability to pat themselves on the back.
