I like Nebraska. I think the overwhelming majority of their fans are very reasonable and are great to opposing fans. I’m in the Omaha area for work a lot and listen to plenty of their local sports talk—I just don’t get where people on here come up with their fans being so terrible or having unreasonable expectations. My experience is that they know this is a rebuild and will take time but they are still thrilled to have Frost as a coach.
I think many people around here hate them because they feel like they’re supposed to hate them for some reason. Their fans are no different than ours.

All gone from the program after these incidents.
The fans are under the impression that they are “rebuilding” to 11-1 or 12-0, and not 8-4 or 9-3. They think they are the most entitled fan base in America (North of the Mason-Dixon).

I do not like Nebraska because I am an Iowa Stater. The whole balloon after first score thing.....so freaking pretentious. I'm sure suburban privileged Omaha are fine folks...probably very empathetic and concerned about the earth and all.
Hey, hate away, I don’t care. I just find it humorous with all the hate. If Phillips is why you hate, that’s fine, I just disagree. But if you try to say it’s because all their fans are delusional then I think that’s the drunks talking because it’s simply not true.
Nebraska Furniture Mart was running a promo before the season started that customers could enter a contest to “win tickets to a Husker Bowl Game.” I would love for them to go 4-8 this year and see what happens.
This. They think the Osborn years are an entitlement, and that they will get back there.
During one of our '80s beatdowns at the hands of the Fuskers, one of their fans turned to me and said-- "I wish you guys didn't suck so bad and you could just hold us one time. Our punter really needs the practice". He was dead serious.
I could never see a Cyclone saying that to an opposing fan.

Not posting about hating Nebraska, just stating facts. The players you referenced were removed from the programs after those incidents.
Nebraska fans' issues are that Nebraska hasn't been that good for almost 20 years, and aren't going to get to where they were.
@dosry5 - I like your posts, but the next time you are talking football in Omaha you need to ask two questions:
1. What is the best record they expect out of Frost
2. How many points do they expect to score on the Hawks this year (after losing to CU and Troy).

A 12 year old staying with my daughter last night told me her Grandma says Nebraska will be in the Big 10 Championship game because they have Frost. Typical kNU fan around these parts.
This thread is kinda not boring.....so that's good. I am watching Alabama now against Ole Miss.....Alabama shouldn't even be playing college ball....they are a semi-pro team. It is ridiculous. There was time in a land very far, far away where Nebraska RELATIVELY had superior paid support and unlimited scholarships and really had no business playing Kansas State and Kansas and other schools that had student atheletes on their roster, instead of paid players. That is why I strongly dislike the paid players of the Nebraska government school.

I still remember one of those years the clones knocked off Nebraska in Ames. The Husker fans were being super obnoxious and yelling yeah wait til next year!!! You don't get to **** talk when you just lost the game gentlemen...terrible fans
