Nebraska lost to Troy!!

NU fans were horrific during the 80's & early 90's.

Never forget that they voted WITH Texas to F the rest of the conference by supporting unequal revenue sharing. Then bitched like little girls about how Texas was trying to run the conference and as such they needed to go to a more level playing field in the B10.

3 things killed NU football.
A. No more partial qualifiers in the B12.
B. Scholarship limits...no more 80 kid classes of HS linemen to be put on full feed and pick out the best 20 until you had 2 deeps of all pro type guys for JR & SR years.
C. Leaving the B12 they killed their TX pipeline for skill players.

There is no changing those 3 things.

Frost is a good coach...but he's not going to go to OH & MI and pull kids from there to NU.

I don't know what the revenue sharing is like in the B1G (surely better than the Big 12 but who isn't?), but them making sure that OSU and MI always play each other is all the proof you need for who that conference will always take care of.

I live and work in the Omaha area. Husker fans are the worst. They think the world revolves around them and they are far superior to anyone and anything. They are only capable of back handed compliments when talking any other team. It’s easy to be a “good fan” and “friendly” when your team wins, the last 15 or so years they have been exposed as no different, if not nastier, than every other fan base. This collapse has been so enjoyable to witness and couldn’t have happened to a more deserving fanbase.

They also would take a pile of Nebraska kids as walk-ons. Kids that loved being part of that program and would get their head bashed in at practice everyday, with very few seeing the field. I am sure that isn't the case now and there is probably less talent in Nebraska now compared to the past. The former Nebraska player network in Nebraska is a tight group though and brining a former Husker back will make that group happy.

Yes....but just like Iowa, the numbers of big old, hard working, farm boys has dwindled with the number of farms.

Anyone saying kind words on here about Nebraska is not a Cyclone fan. Nebraska loudly and publicly rooted for the Big 12 to collapse leaving Iowa State to end up in the MAC. It was all over this so-called reasonable sports radio in Omaha. I also heard it at work, from neighbors, everywhere I went. Husker fans shamelessly hoped for ISU and others to be relegated to athletics insignificance. It is undeniable and indefensible.

Also, this is the same Nebraska that has still refused to pay Akron for the September 1 game and has no intention of ever paying it unless Akron comes back to Lincoln on December 1. Akron is out $165,000 just for travel expenses alone, not to mention the shortage in their budget because good ol' NU reneged on payment.
So yeah, just SO much to like about the Huskers.

The MAC should have stepped in and threatened to not have Ball State, Kent State, Miami, and Akron go to B1G venues yesterday along with WM, EM, BG the previous week.

They fulfilled their contract, Akron better Take them to court. Such greed by Nebraska, just a drop in the bucket of their budget.

Flew in to the game this weekend and the folks at the airport said SDSU wanted to play on Monday. Obviously didn’t work for ISU.

Guys, am in awe of just how good of an athletic director we have! Seriously, I am not saying this with any sarcasm at all. I know I have criticized him in the past, but he handled the ISU first game cancellation brilliantly. We cancelled the game, payed SD State what we owed, and got a new team scheduled within days. No problems, none at all. Pollard handled it as easily and cleanly as rolling up the windows in his car.

Over at Nebraska, they still haven't replaced their game, they have not paid Akron what they owed, and it might end up messy in court. Wow.

I am suddenly having appreciation for Pollard.

They had a lot of fun in Lincoln and around the state during the off season with Frost puns and t-shirt phrases. I am think the NU start this year might really "Frost Nebraska's cookies."

Note: All BIG teams (not named Iowa) are welcome to use and adapt this phrase in any way shape or form...
