NBA: *** NBA Playoffs Thread V2.0 ***

It's about a thousand times harder to dislike him when he's not falling down on purpose and pretending to be shoved. I am legitimately afraid for the other players when he's full speed on a break, how do you not just get out of the way?

I know maybe 3 6'9 guys. None of them can run that fast or are built like that. I get scared when they walk at me.

There's a running points system to curtail repeat offenses.

I guess but its not like he has many games left anyway and I seriously doubt they would suspend him in the playoffs. I really don't get basketball officiating any more. The other night Gasol hacked Parker in the face, poked him in the eye, and pushed him into the bleachers and there NO foul called. LeBron's sixth foul wasn't much. It seems like the more contact, the less likely they are to call a foul. And the whack to the back of Wade's head seemed an obvious flagrant that gets called two days later. Just find it as confusing as watching the refs hose us against KU.

I hate the ambiguity in the flagrant foul rules. A Flagrant 1 is for unnecessary contact, and Flagrant 2 is unnecessary and excessive. The word unnecessary makes no sense. Isn't contact during all fouls "unnecessary"? To me flagrant fouls are called on excessive contact. And flagrant 2 are called on excessive and intentionally dangerous contact.

Chris Anderson's foul against Hansbrough was excessive. By all interpretations of the word I have seen used. I think that should have been a flagrant 1 in a game of basketball, but based on reading the rules that should be a flagrant 2.

It just annoys me when I see that graphic on TNT every time they review a flagrant foul, describing the fouls and it never matches up with how the foul is called.

I was watching with a friend and he isn't a sports/basketball fan, he saw that graphic, and immediately said it was obviously a flagrant 2 because it was obviously excessive. I then had to tell him that the rule isn't enforced as written.

Well, that is my rant for the night.

It was a great performance by LeBron. I was glad to see him take charge, and to stop whining and flopping and just play as the best player in the game, which he is currently. I think the Pacers come back strong in game 6. I hope they force 7, but even if they come out strong, it will be close as long as that LeBron shows up.

Do the Pacers win game 6 or do the Heat end it in Indiana? I think the Pacers win game 6, but then get blown out in game 7.

That would be standard operating procedure for the Heat. The Pacers are a resilient bunch and I think they've only lost once at home in the playoffs so far. Combine that with Miami's tendency to let up after they get the upper hand in a series and you've got a game 7. In Miami. With an angry Lebron. That probably won't turn out so great if you're a Pacers fan.

Actually, once they have an opponent in a position to eliminate them, they haven't lost.

Yeah, teams don't force Games 5,6 or 7 against them.

either you misinterpreted or you're being intentionally obtuse.

Once Miami gets to 3 wins, whether that's after 3, 4, 5, or 6 games, they haven't lost the next game in the 3 years they've been together.

Or I was agreeing with you.

I didn't figure the elimination game factor into it. Or maybe I did and chose to ignore it because I'm a desperate Pacer fan grasping at straws and trying to find reasons why Indy can win game six, however flimsy those reasons might be.

The Pacers still have a pretty good shot. They got beat by 11 in Miami with their entire backcourt scoring 5 points.

Indiana had been so unusually efficient offensively in this series before game 5. If they can get back to that, this series will be coming back to Miami.

Birdman suspended for game 6. If Bosh or Haslem get in foul trouble it looks like there will be a game 7.

That is big news for Indiana. Simply because Miami doesn't have anyone else, Joel Anthony may be required to play real minutes. And if Miami gets in foul trouble I am not sure where they turn.

Surprising news...I didn't expect a suspension. If George Hill and or Lance Stephenson can bounce back from a poor game 5 performance, then maybe we get a game 7. And anything can happen in a game 7.
