Naz Long NBA potential

In two years from now, if he keeps improving, does he get drafted?
We know he was a point guard so he ball handling skills but this year he really could knock down those 3's which was really unexpected my expectations that he had it in him and he plays pretty good defense as well.

It all depends on how much he improves. If his shooting and defense improve to Chris Babb level he probably still won't get drafted but will have a chance to earn a spot.

Defense still needs to improve, and he has to be able to drive to the rim a lot better. It's too early to jump to a conclusion here though, nobody here thought that Ejim would ever win Big 12 player of the year back when he was playing with Royce in his sophomore season. I guess we'll have a better picture next season and the year after that.

I'm surprised people dismiss this so easily. Don't get me wrong, there's a ton of polish he needs to add (become less erratic on D, become much more consistent with his shot, and tighten up his ball handling) but per CFH the kids a workhorse. He has tremendous confidence and poise for a kid playing his first season of meaningful minutes. The things he lacks are coachable and can easily be developed in two years, especially with a great coach and a gym rat like Long. Getting drafted is probably far-fetched, but catching on with a team is not out of the question.

Right now he lacks the offensive consistency he needs and ultimately an NBA body. Unfortunately he can only do so much to get an NBA. If his shot becomes more consistent and he develops an ability to create for himself he'll have a chance, I'd be pretty stunned if that chance comes through the draft though.

McGee wasn't McGee good his junior year either. He's only a sophomore, he could improve just like Babb. Honestly Garrett and Babb both likey wouldn't be in the NBA right now, and neither would Royce to a much different extent if it weren't for Fred.

Our players getting NBA looks will get very normal. I could see Naz continuing to improve and getting there. He isn't maxed out his sophomore year and first year actually playing.

Drafted? Ehh probably not. I like Morris and Thomas odds more.

What are you basing this off? Diante never seemed to be an Nba player, then boom 2 years later he's on a roster. Does Naz look NBA ready now? Hell no. Will he in 2 years? Who the hell knows.

McGee will likely be in the NBA in another year or too. If Naz keeps improving his shooting like he likely will under Fred, he has a decent shot. He's already the better defender and bad better ball handling skills. He's athletic and as he gets older/bigger he could start driving more too.

He's a sophomore coming off the bench on a not very deep team so probably not. He's also short in comparison to the nba.

He's a sophomore, who knows where his career will be at in two years. If the kid works hard and continues to improve his game, I don't see how he would have any less of a shot than anyone else at the D1 level. There are a few guys each year that come in that were just born to play in the NBA (Wiggins), the rest of the guys that get drafted do it by working their *** off. To slight anyone still early in the process is just ridiculous and completely unfair.

I doubt he gets drafted, he'll get some looks though, but I bet he goes to Europe for a few years and then resurface in the NBA again. That's my super early prediction based off practically nothing but seeing him play this season. At worst he will be considered an all time clutch Cyclone for his late game heroics, which is more than a lot of people who passed through this team will ever get to say.

I'm scared to post anything in this thread because lord knows it will get bumped in 3 years if he somehow gets on a roster. He lacks size and versatility in his game so I would say his chances are low. He can still be a viable role player on a good college team for the next two years. Not a bad way to spend your time.
