Mow Height

I always set mine well below the shoulder height of a tiger for summer. Don't want to provide any cover for them stalking me.

Especially if you don't have a Tiger safety cage mounted on mower.:D

Is that the same as for cougars? Just trying to help.

I'm letting 90% of my 2+ acre lawn go to seed - around 1-2' tall now. Hoping the seed will thicken the turf next year. Looks like prairie on a windy day. Saw a coyote in there 2 days ago. I mow it to like 3" around the perimeter of the property. Nice not having to mow so damned often.

I think I mowed my neighbors yard with the front tires on the lowest setting and the rear tires on the highest setting. Didn’t look too bad.

If you want to cut down on weeds mow at least 3 inches. Also, anything less will make the ground too dry in Jult and August.

I mow mine at the highest setting which has helped thicken my lawn and made it so I don’t use my irrigation system.

The catch is to make it look good I have to cross cut it: once one direction then immediately perpendicular. I only mow once a week, so a lot of times the second mow helps mulch in the clippings better.

It’s time and effort, but the lawn looks phenomenal (~4/10ths of an acre, push mower).

Neighbor must think his dirt level mowing wasn’t low enough, out mowing again after two days.

I go with highest (drought) or second highest (July-August). Spring and fall are shorter. I have started mulching during the hot season because I think it conserves moisture better; it also is a much faster process than bagging.
