Monte invited to Pan-Am Games tryouts

Isn't Keith Langford (KU, Turning 32) on the team as well?
 
5 assists and 15 turnovers in the first game for the US.
 
Melvin scored 12 on 5-7 shooting for Canada in their win today...Canada's squad is loaded.

My guess is that Fred will be heavily involved and a great resource for Monte as well.

I agree. I think maybe the altitude did it (not sure if where he went in Colorado was up high but that's the reason I believe in).

Though the Wooden Watch committee will gladly put several players from the same team in its preseason top 50, we self-imposed a maximum of one player per school. The rationale: It's kind of hard to be the best player in the country if you aren't clearly the best player on your own team.
Literally dozens of potential candidates were omitted for this reason, but the following 10 players were particularly painful to leave off the list: Tyrone Wallace (California), Grayson Allen (Duke), Kyle Wiltjer (Gonzaga), Troy Williams (Indiana), Monte Morris (Iowa State), Frank Mason (Kansas), Tyler Ulis and Alex Poythress (Kentucky), Brice Johnson (North Carolina) and Fred VanVleet (Wichita State).

That's a stupid rule to self-impose. Who's to say that Monte won't have a better year than Niang? If they are a top 50 player put them on the top 50 watch list. End.of.story.
 
It's almost impossible to find box scores on these Pan Am games.

I gave up and i'm quite the stat google nerd.

Melo Trimble is such a different player than Morris even though he's classified as a pg. I highly doubt any team is going to be better off for having Cousins or VanVleet at point over MM. Morris had better point guard stats (assists, steals, TOs) and shot significantly better from the field than VanVleet playing a much better schedule against much better athletes.
 
USA team stinks, although this is like our Z team nationally.
