I saw the replays of those errors and wow none were even close to the intended target. Little Leaguers play better than that.

I'm just saying I wouldn't hang my hat on "playoff experience" being as significant as you're making it out to be. C.C. Sabathia probably has more playoff experience than any pitcher in the postseason this year; it doesn't mean that he'll perform well.
I'm just looking at Gio and Zimmermann's consistency this year. Zimmermann has never given up more than 5 runs in a game, and Gio's only done it once. Zimmermann has only pitched fewer than 5 innings once, and Gio has only done it a handful of times. It's very possible that the Nats take the first two games, and if the do, it's going to be very tough for the Cards to come back and win this series on the road.

Man oh man, my hatred for the Cards just gets higher and higher. Didn't think that was possible.
This is so stupid. You don't get chances like this every year. I hate...HATE this decision...and I'm saying that as a Cards fan that has to face them next. If that kid gets hurt next year and never pitches again - I'll be very upset.
Why do people hate the Cardinals for this? It's not their fault. They played baseball. Even if they don't make the call the Braves still need to come through. I am the biggest Cardinal fan you will find but I do not hate our rivals like our rivals hate us. What's the deal on that? We We do not whine like the Reds say we do. The only thing I can think of is jealously.

I actually give the organization a lot of credit for protecting the player rather than jeopardizing his future to win games. If the medical staff are all in agreement that he'll be an injury risk unless he's shut down, then take care of the player. What if they had kept pitching him and he tore a ligament again? The Nats are positioned well to contend for years to come, and Stras will get his chances.
Thing is, even without him, they've still got one of the best rotations in baseball; John Lannan could be a 3-5 starter on a lot of clubs. He'd probably be the ace on the Twins staff, haha.
Reds fans are jealous and Cub fans well you know the whole 100 years thing..... I personally hate the Reds more than I hate the Cubs. Brandon Phillips is a pud and Crusty Dusty Baker is a D-bag.
As far as the new playoff format is concerned, I'm indifferent towards the additional wildcard. What I really hate is the new 2-3 format is the lower seed now has no chance to rip home field away from the higher seed and clinch the series at home. I suppose the lower seed has a greater ability of going up 2-0 when they finally hit the road, but I just don't like it.
So you are saying the best case scenario for you is Nats will sweep. Yes possible. Not likely.
It is a one-year thing because regular season schedule was already set and they didnt want to move the playoffs back. So to fit the WC game in, they gave up a travel day. It will be back to normal next year.
Actually, I don't credit the Nationals at all, because they botched it up.
There is another playoff team, I want to say it's the Orioles but I could be wrong about it, that has a rookie pitcher that they wanted to limit innings for this year. Instead of burning all his innings up before September rolled around, they started him in the bullpen when the season started and transitioned him into the starter role, and then in late September started lengthening the time between starts a few games. Guess what - that team has that young stud pitcher for the postseason, while the Nats don't have Strassbourg until 2013
Agreed. Reds and Brewers are classless. Cubs are a classy organization that just never wins.

Yeah, a sweep is obviously the best-case scenario. Even if the Nats take the first two, it's very possible that Carpenter beats Jackson in Game 3...but then they have to win two more, on the road. That's an uphill climb for the Cardinals.
Anything can happen, but I'll be pretty surprised if this series goes to a Game 5.
That is stupid. I could see the rest of the regular season but no playoffs that's just ***ing stupid. Who knows if the Nats even get back to the playoffs again.
Dude you can EASILY limit his innings throughout the year. They could have shut him down or bullpenned him for 3 months if they wanted. They had a huge lead and an even bigger lead on the wild card. They were wrong and used him wrong. No 2 ways around it.
