Milwaukee Mcdermott sighting

To me stopping it means consistency, not 1 win. Your negative light is my truth, and I am a season ticket holder.

McD is what, 2-7 vs. in state. You telling me he hasn't been out coached in the majority of these type of games.
Sadly UNI was probably a better team than we were the last 2 years, as was Drake. Guards win games, and I think you could make an argument we've had the worst backcourt in the state for a few years now.

So Jacobsen outcoached McDermott in Cedar Falls last year? If he didn't, he didn't continue outcoaching him, so it must have stopped. You can't have it both ways...

On a three game sample size, one game is a trend.

We better not schedule South Dakota State anymore then. They are on a winning trend vs. IA State.

Guys, I'm a huge ISU fan but I can also take off my blinders and see that Mac has gotten out coached by teams that I think we are better than, including UNI. Yes, UNI made the tournament last year but that was a down year for the MoValley, and how would they do in the Big 12?

Nothing wrong to my opinion, that's all it is.

I understand what you are saying but personally I don't believe that UNI or Drake were better than us the last two years. Its just my opinion that we had better talent, but they might not have been coached any better.

I am worried that the world is catching onto a good recruiter like Coach Robinson and that he could be finding himself some good job offers in the coming years.

Well, some of us don't call a win "outcoached" (especially when that game was the first sign of life from the team), and others don't think that constantly losing your best player reflects as being outcoached.

I'm just not sure that "out coached" is the right term. Were there actual coaching decisions during the game that lessed our chances of winning those games? Or did the players just not perform like they should have? I don't know. Obviously, coaching does have some affect on the outcome. It is just very hard to draw the line unless it was a blatant coaching mistake (like calling an inappropriate defense for an entire half).

I know that watching ISU football last season, I saw a couple games where coaching errors and mistakes lead to losses. I think in those situations it is fair to say we got outcoached.

Also, I see no problem with your opinion. It is what it is.

Oh ****! Does Ames have a Chipotle? Duke does, and it is Top-10!

Why would HB choose a big national chain like Chipotle where he'd be just another customer over the hometown Fighting Burrito. He know's FB's white guy with dreads employees, his dad ate at Fighting Burrito, his mom works near Fighting Burrito. HB is a must get for them. Although I'd rather have him eat at Chipotle then at Panchero's where we'd have to eat against him twice a year.

Why would you be worried about that?!?! If the world catches on in a few years, that will me that he has brought in at least 4-5 years of pretty high talent, and we should be good to go. I wonder some times how people make it through every day...

Since you have the vision, I would guess you can see that we haven't had the talent due to the prior staffs and admins blunders. In addition, no consistancy of players adds to a poor team, from one season to the next..blah blah and so on. Make sure you look at the whole picture, not just the part that serves your point of view.

I think he has not been out coached often at all...I think our teams have been out played by other teams and the reasons for that are obvious...

What do you base this on? honest question...

Minimal road wins
0-3 vs Drake
1-2 vs Iowa
1-2 vs UNI
losing to teams like SD State, Hawaii, etc.
There isn't a whole lot of shocking wins in his tenure is there?

1.) I figured you were OK with this faulty logic. You were looking for consistency, but the sample size is too small to make claims of consistency either way.
2.) I can put my McD-bashing bat down and see that McD "out-coached" UNI last year.

Don't worry, they're coming.

Oh I know they are, I have faith, I'm just trying to show why I believe in what I said.
And I'll still be getting season tickets, and driving to Chicago, and Lincoln, and other places to root them on.
I have a good feeling about this year and team, its just what I have said about performance in his 3 years that ruffled peoples feathers.

Haha, okay...there is more to wins and loses than getting out coached.

I don't understand your UNI argument if this is your judgement of getting out coached by Jacobson.

Answer this question quick...What "in game mistakes" was Mac making to cause those loses?

I know there is more to wins and losses but his track record here isn't showing a whole lot of him out coaching other teams.

Generally I think a lot of these losses are due to a non uptempo type of play. Just how I feel about it. From my perspective it seems like a lot of games I went to were in the 50- low 60 point areas.

Maybe an Ames booster can get a franchise going or we can express mail from Chipolte in Omaha for games all the tuna subs that he needs. Is that Kosher pickles and baked chips also?

He's outcoached a few people to keep us in games, we just don't have the horses. He can't put the buckets in, he can only try to get us open looks. OU we played down to the wire. Kansas we played with until we decided to forget how to score. Playing up-tempo the last two season would've been a HUGE mistake. DG is too wild with the ball, and Petey's high-flying antics wouldn't be able to handle the ball up-tempo. This doesn't even account for having other people to go with them. Brackins is about the only guy we've got that would be able to run the floor to go up-tempo without sacrificing a lot.
