Any geopolitics know whether we can trust lebanese government reportd.

Beirut is pretty westernized but if it was a military attack from Israel we aren’t going to get confirmation until Israel claims it most likely.

Fireworks? That's the best they could come up with? Did they ask my 12 year old to come up with a cover story on the spot for this?

Info on the Port of Beirut and its silos that you can see next to the warehouse:

"The general cargo area in the Port of Beirut contains 12 warehouses and a grain silo. This includes four warehouses for general cargo that cover 2.6 hectares. The Port of Beirut has three warehouses for cargo consolidation that cover an area of two hectares. There are three warehouses for automobiles in the Port of Beirut that cover a total area of 1.8 hectares. The Port of Beirut also contains a two-acre open warehouse for cars and heavy-load engines and a 1.3-acre warehouse for hazardous goods. The Port of Beirut's silo has capacity for 120 thousand tons. It includes 48 big cells, each with capacity for 2500 tons, and 50 small cells with 500-ton capacity.

The secondary explosion is one that would require something of a "shell" where there is a massive pressure build-up. An open warehouse of damn near any material would not act that way. When you see big chemical or grain-bin explosions (which are not this big and sudden) it's when something inside a big vessel or tank, etc. goes up.

I could definitely see a holding tank with certain chemicals doing that. As a another poster said, there was a hazardous material storage site in the port.

Anyone on site with a Geiger counter? If Israel claimed there to be a munisions facility, who knows what was let free in that explosion.
