F4 was solid. My favorite MCU film since GotG Vol. 3. This is what happens when you inject heart and emotion into your movies, Marvel!

I imagine the biggest complaints will be that the plot doesn’t tie into the main MCU timeline, and is only inferred via the mid-credits scene… and then there’s the whole baby Franklin reviving Sue. But if you know Franklin at all from the comics, him being able to do that is very much in line with his abilities. I thought it was a super touching moment.

I’m thinking that Doom will kidnap Franklin and will either take him to Earth-616 or Franklin will send both of them through the multiverse to get there, and then part of Doomsday will be the F4 chasing after them.

Heading to Fantastic 4 tonight with my daughter. Been a while since I've been looking forward this much to seeing an MCU movie. Really hope it doesn't disappoint.

I loved it. I thought there was a ton of heart and emotion injected into Wakanda Forever, GOTG3, and even Deadpool and Wolverine (the ending sequence with the Madonna overlay is chilling/fantastic for a comic book nerd - a proper summer blockbuster). FF took it to another level. Having 3 young kids, including an 8 month old, knowing what a superhuman my wife is - the ending sequence is one of the most emotionally cool things I've ever seen in a comic book movie. Maybe the most. That was just so, so badass. Kirby's primal portayal was perfect.

I've seen some complaints that the movie did not cover other backstories of the characters. My only reaction to that is...is it OK if we, ya know, get that in FF2? For example, lets expand on Ben in the next one. It's fine! He will get fleshed out. There was absolutely no reason to cram more sh*t into this one. It was tidy and purposeful. I had absolutely no issue instantly believing this crew of 4 were a tight family with deep bonds that already have been using and practicing their powers for 4,+ years.

I think they alluded to enough backstory through the anniversary shows, but also through the small moments and looks characters gave each other. Sure, some of it requires a little bit of deeper knowledge of the characters, but you still catch the significance without it. When Sue names the baby, Johnny gives her a knowing look and then she later explains about their dad. Ben's Jewish heritage and Yancy Street got plenty of play in a movie that clocked in under 2 hours.

Totally believable that this was a family not just a team. The dinner scenes, the reactions to the pregnancy, Reed's guilt, Ben's forgiveness of that guilt, the willingness to "lay on the wire" as Steve Rogers put it without a second thought, and not taking the easy way out knowing the calculus says it absolutely should be the call.

I appreciate not making Johnny just a one-note playboy type character. His tenacity in solving the language problem gave his some greater depth than just being the fire guy women think is hot.

Yes, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm was a great casting choice and she nailed it. Their dynamic also reminds me a lot of my wife and I... Reed's struggles between his logic and emotions was something that surprised me in the way I could identify with him. He loves his family first and foremost... and the way that he defiantly told Galactus that he's not taking his newborn really choked me up in what was otherwise a very tense scene. But then Sue later admonishes him because she knew him well enough to know that he had actually considering doing the unthinkable. "I think of all the possible bad things that could happen so that they don't happen!" I probably butchered the quote, but that was the gist.

I doubt Riri or [Bad guy] are "side characters" anymore, as the show - IMHO - clearly establishes they are important to this next phase.

They have to stop doing this. Ironheart and other characters from these MCU shows nobody is watching cannot become important parts of the movies. It’s hurting the overall product a lot.

For the record I saw FF and I really enjoyed it. If I’m being honest I liked it more than Superman which is a movie I honestly had a lot of fun with.

Saw Fantastic 4 and really enjoyed it. Thought the writing, aesthetic, world-building, and characters were all great. Was super bummed when they didn't cast John Krasinski as Reed Richards, but Pedro won me over by the end of the movie. I thought Sue Storm was the standout and while I generally liked Johnny, I thought the writers neutered his character a bit too much, making him a bit bland. Anyway, this was the first movie to uptick my MCU excitement level in quite some time. Can't wait to see them appear again.

I've also finally started Ironheart and am only 2 episodes so far, but whoof!!!!!! This thing is borderline unwatchable so far. Its honestly painful how bad it is and the worst thing I've seen in all the MCU, maybe even Inhumans bad. I wish that was just hyperbole. The writing is awful, the characters are all terrible, not to mention making the character of Riri COMPLETELY unlikable and uncompelling. I keep asking myself why I'm supposed to be interested or care at all about all these characters, especially Riri. I thought Riri was one of the worst, shoed-in parts of Black Panther 2, and while I hoped this series would change my mind, it has only made it worse. Does it get better from here? I'm honestly asking, because at this point, it may just be me hate watching this thing to at least keep up with MCU continuity.

Had to bring this back to the top with the news about the re-release of Endgame with additional scenes/footage.

The reason being that Doomsday will start supposedly where Endgame left off like was done with No Way Home.

My overriding question would be how they've had additional scenes and managed to sit on them for 7 years?

That new footage may be stuff they shot as easter eggs to other Marvel characters or just in case they wanted in different directions with the subsequent phases. Or it may be truly new footage that they shot recently that ties things closer to the Doomsday story line.

The Endgame re-release will likely just be the original cut of the movie with an addition NEW end credits scene which will directly tie in with the Doomsday story line.

Going to be interesting to see how they treat all of the continuity issues and characters that came in the movies after Endgame.

Based on all the nerdy videos I have been watching, there is a reasonable expectation that there will be brand new scenes (recently shot) interjected within Endgame (e.g., a version of the "Tony Stark soul-world deleted scene" but different), along with a real/actual post-credits scene.

I couldn't be more excited to see this new trailer that was shown at CinemaCon last week (if we will ever see it at all). Just hearing the nerds describe it on YouTube has me pumped. Sounds like a lot of new characters (from the Multiverse Saga) with the 'focus' of the film following Thor and Steve as sort of a direct sequel to Endgame and all the unanswered questions that Endgame created.

So, for years now, I've been part of this hand-selected group by Disney to take surveys in the background relaying my thoughts on all things media produced by Disney+. Don't ask me why I was selected in particular, because I don't know. With that said, through the questions, I sometimes get hints ahead of time about what might be coming down the pipe by the questions they are asking me now. For example, the latest questionnaire was all related to what upcoming series I want to see come from the MCU. I first got to make suggestions of whoever I wanted to see head a series, but they also were asking me a ton of questions about my thoughts on a lineup of different characters they clearly are already considering for their own series. Some might be who you think and some might not. Note they are all existing characters in the MCU. I took a similar survey a few years ago which contained many of the same names, but also some different ones. Anyway, in case anyone on here was also curious, here is the rundown of characters from who I remember. I may be missing a few.

Sprite (Eternals)
Ikaris (Eternals) - notable that he is currently dead by flying into the sun
Sersi (Eternals)
Phastos (Eternals)
Adam Warlock (Guardians of the Galaxy)
Starlord (Guardians of the Galaxy)
Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy) - Notable she is kind-of dead
Mantis (Guardians of the Galaxy)
Darcy Lewis (Thor)
Ian Boothby (Thor) - Darcy's assistant for those who don't know. This one was the most baffling on the list.
Johnny Storm (Fantastic Four)
Vallentina Allegra De Fontaine (Thunderbolts)
Ghost (Ant-Man 2)
Captain America Sam Wilson (Captain America: Brave New World)
Katy (Shang-Chi)

I find it interesting how Eternals and Guardians heavy this list is, as that isn't what I'd expect. My own suggestions were to go more the Black Knight, Blade, Midnights sons route or the X-Men route. I also prefer more street-level TV series over the galactic ones. Based on what they gave me for their list, I suggested to see more of Johnny Storm, Val, Ikaris, Sersi or Star Lord over the others. Its notable they wanted to know my thoughts also on live-action vs animated, main vs supporting character vs cameo, as well as movie vs series for the use of anyone on their existing list. I'm curious anyone else's thoughts on all this. A lot of why I keep doing the surveys is so that I can get some behind the scenes insight as well as so that my voice is potentially being heard for what I want to see next. Therefore, feel free to blame me obviously for anything Marvel produces.
