Appreciate the opinion. I always love how different people can be with their thoughts. Henry's Superman is by far my favorite Superman even though I hated what they did with him in Batman vs Superman. It still doesn't change that I love his Superman. Man of Steel is one of my all-time favorite comic book movies.

Is that where he has the painted over lip?

Funny different people can watch the same thing and come back with far different opinions.
  • Hated him killing zod with what appeared to be little effort to stop him without killing him.
  • Hated the scene where he lets Johnathon Kent die... he trusts his dad, but no version of Supes I know would stand by and do nothing.
  • They make it out as he is loved by people, but given how little they know about him, the destruction he's caused, and killing of Zod I don't buy for a second that they would. He's not the golden boy version of Supes I know.
  • Its an origin story, but Louis figures out who he is instantaneously. Bruce is old, Berry is young. I'm confused.
  • Every iteration I've seen WW and Aquaman can go toe to toe with him even though he is stronger. This version appears to be able to take on the entire JLA without breaking a freaking sweat. Snyder's version powered up the other heroes some at the end, versus waiting for Supes to get there and save them.
  • I also don't buy the JLA would resurrect him with unknown alien technology the way they did(Bruce Wayne is not Tony Stark), especially after having just fought with Doomsday which was supposedly Zod resurrected.
Should note: I like Henry Cavil. My problem are the writers/directors, not him.

DC isn't all bad: Gal Gadot's WonderWoman has been fantastic outside of WW2 being a small letdown. Jason Mamoa's Aquaman has been fantastic. Ben Affleck, worried me when casted, but honestly he's probably my favorite Bruce Wayne to date.

They're trying to have their cake and eat it too breaking him from the Golden Boy image and having the world still love him. Every multiverse version of supes that isn't a Golden Boy turns evil and the world doesn't love him. I think that's why I'm having a hard time accepting this version.

Switching back to marvel and the upcoming Secret Wars. I really wish they had Chris Evan's Captain America for that. The version of Secret Wars I know Cap is impersonated and tells the world to stand down. When they finally win he has to deal with the massive blow to his WonderBoy image and people no longer trusting him. It was one of the more memorable parts of that storyline for me.

I hear you on a decent chunk of those. Your biggest egregious take was that Wonder Woman 2 was a small letdown. That is an understatement. It was a major letdown.

In a fairly surprise move to most everyone, Marvel's Netflix agreement apparently had an end date and that is March 1st. Therefore, all those shows are leaving Netflix soon and many are speculating as to where they end up, which is likely either Hulu or Disney+. Personally, due to their more mature content, I'm going to guess Hulu in the states, but I could be wrong.

Agents of Shield looks set to be leaving Netflix as well February 28th on top of all the other Marvel Netlix series. As of this moment, I'm guessing all the Marvel Netflix series land on Hulu while AOS lands on Disney+.

Go chase this thing down!

Haha, just kidding. I'd probably be a good source of insight, but I'm too much a nerd now I rarely watch any trailers anymore in fear of it spoiling my movie experience. However, both Screencrush and New Rockstars youtube channels put out the best trailer breakdowns around. Both should have a summary out either today or tomorrow. I'd recommend checking out those.

Hello fellow nerds, missed the eternals and I think little JM and I are gonna watch it tonight. Can somebody tell me where it fits in the MCU timeline and anything else spoiler free I should know about it? I know zero about the characters or their origin

There are periods of the movie that reference the MCU universe, the snap is mentioned if I remember correctly, but the rest of the Marvel universe does not figure into the plot of this one if you are looking for hard ties between them.
