I don’t think complication was the issue. College playbooks are known for not overly complex. I guess I just don’t get why so many are sold on Dekkers. What happens if he struggles the same way under the next OC? You could blame Campbell I suppose, but Purdy did pretty well under his system for 4 years.
Who's to say Purdy wouldn't have done better in a different system, though? Purdy was great at improvising. Better at avoiding pressure, similar with boneheaded turnovers. Difference was he had Breece and an NFL tight end.

I question Dekkers less than I question our offensive scheme/play calling. Dekkers has a good arm and decent running ability, I think he'll be sufficient (if not great) with good play calling and solid complimentary pieces on the line and outside. Think we should hit the portal hard for some up and coming linemen.

Then you move to the next guy. I don't think he's terrible though. Sometimes you need a different approach to a problem. A new coordinator might be able to better teach Dekkers to do his job between the ears.

I think the that people who are glad that Manning is gone because they think the offense will be more open next year and beyond are in for a surprise. I predict we will be more K State, ND State, Wisconsin dare I say Iowa like going forward. I think Manning wanted to run more 11 personnel and Campbell wanted more 12 and 13 personnel going forward. What the HC wants the HC gets.

That's ok.

If Matt wants to be that stubborn and continue to utilize a strategy that doesn't work and isn't fun to watch, then he can find somewhere else to be as well.

ISU fans have no desire to be KF-lite in the shadow of Iowa and with a worse offensive line.

I'm going to both places in May. Well worth it?
Definitely. Adelaide is a hidden gem since you’re close to amazing wineries and it’s not as congested and crowded as Sydney (Sydney was lovely though) and Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Hopefully you’re going to both places. DM me if you want any recommendations.

We need a guy who’s offense was #1 in the Mac or MW and has the experience of being an OC for awhile at said school. We do not have the money for big time names. If that happens I’ll be shocked we ain’t rich, but we ain’t poor either.
It would be great to get an OC from a top level G5 school like Boise State, Tulane, Memphis or SMU.

Whittingham is probably the most underrated, least talked about and probably forgotten about coach in college football.

Guy isn't flashy but his teams are always solid, good fundamentals, play hard and he adapts to his players skills.

Utah is 1000000% what ISU should be modeling after.

What type of offense do they have? I honestly haven’t seen more than the 4th quarter last night and it was already ugly by then. I see they run our defense, which about everyone but the big 10 does.

Pretty balanced attack but they adjust it to their personal and the team they are playing. Usually their running game is pretty salty, but they throw down field and throw short to let their playmakers run. The OLine is usually very good too.

I think our current line can be decent. I would like to grab a few in the portal, so would every team. We subbed less this year than any other I remember for line. We also looked in worse shape, add those two together and you get a line like we saw. I’m not even going to mention basic fundamentals on blocking seeming out of whack to me, but I think the right guy and S&C staff can get us to at least that C- area would would be functional.

Thank you my friend.
I'm spending 2 weeks in London in 24. If you've ever been there suggestions are very welcome. Thank you again.

To me they also just seem to play with a kind of 'edge' and pace that doesn't let the opposing D get comfortable.

Nothing's perfect but I don't see them scrambling just to put a consistent drive together.

You said the key thing here. The Oline is usually very good too. If we get that we will be absolutely fine
