Lake Laverne update

Many moons ago there was a fraternity on West St. (Alpha Sigma Phi) that had a cannon that they fired off after every score. They might be the ones still doing it but with a newer, upgraded cannon, the fourth generation. The tradition began in 1967 with the first generation cannon.

So, that's where the cannon went during the merriment after we licked them damned Rebs so bad Missour-ah ceded their two northern tiers of counties to be the two southern tiers of counties in Iowa.

And there are Van Buren county residents who refuse to allow census takers on their property unless they are from Missouri. They seriously think they live in Missouri. That must be where that came from. Lol

And not only that Bentonsport of Van Buren County deported the future president of Texas A&M with buckshot to the butt before the civil war. Bentonsport didn’t like him promoting slavery.

I was afraid it referred to Dodds House and we got caught.
I haven’t heard or read “Dodds House” in so long! Brought back some memories involving Saran Wrap and pennies, and maybe some brownies. I was not the instigator.
