Went with Dreamcloud for our current one. It is a hybrid coil/foam one. Replaced a 100% foam and have been very happy with it. It helped clear up some back issues I was having in almost no time. It sleeps much cooler than full foam, which was a positive for my wife.

Bought a Zinus memory foam for the kids 6 years ago, love the mattress but the original sleeps hot when I've slept on it with the kids. The kids sleep fine - I'm just a hot sleeper. Paid up for the cooling gel twins for my boys now but I've never tried it out to see if it is any cooler and they aren't old enough to believe whether they notice the difference. Cooling gel 12" King is $609 regular price right now and they have 20% off sales a lot of holidays. It was cheap enough for me to give it a try and if it sucked I was just planning on giving it to my sister for her vacation home to replace some older ones.

Have had a king tempurpedic for 11ish years.
Split box and single mattress. Feels the same as the day we bought it.
Recommend this as well. Did the the temperpedic cloud lux with the cool top. Absolutely love it and will never buy a different bed

Thanks. I was wondering how those hybrids worked and if they were actually cooler. Good to know.

I should have stated we are coming from a Ghost that I bought probably 8-10 years ago.

Is it just a coincidence that DreamCloud and Nectar have almost identical websites, model structure, and pricing? I feel like they're the same thing.

Thanks for the input from everyone so far. Very helpful!

With any luck we will be there by Tuesday.

I have a Helix Midnight in the guest room and a Helix Dusk for our bed. I've been very impressed with both.

They're on the pricier side, but I cannot speak highly enough of Purple mattresses. We have two now and have had our first one for 4ish years. Still feels as great as it did when we first bought it.
Seconded. I bought a Purple 3 mattress in 2019 (they've since changed the names, but it's one with springs built into the base, not just foam and the gel grid), and couldn't be happier with it. Their Harmony pillow is awesome, too (though it's very pricey for a pillow).

Edit: for reference, I clock in right around 285 pounds. If you're much more fit than I am, you can get one of their lower-end mattresses and probably be quite happy, but I needed one that could better handle the weight.

We bought one from Tuft & Needle back in 2017 and I like it. Still going strong, but after looking up how old it is I wonder how long they typically last.

2 people sleeping (married so not much else happening) every night for going on 7 years seems like solid mileage out of a $600 queen.

Man, we've been going through beds over the last three years with no success. A lot depends on if you are big, or a side sleeper vs back sleeper. Do you sleep hot? yada, yada. My wife does all this research and keeps a spreadsheet based on me being large and a side sleeper.

We have done Nectar, Latex Mattress Company out of Phoenix, we are on Saatva now. I think we have had another one that I can't remember now. We bought the adjustable base when we bought the Nectar as I had shoulder surgery a few weeks later so I could be in zero gravity. The adjustable base is so great. None of these beds have been great for either of us. Which is odd because we had the Latex Mattress Co. for like 15 years before I finally caved my side enough that I was constantly sinking to the middle.

Good luck finding a mattress. I'm wanting to look at Sleep Number next just so I can adjust it based on hip or back pain.

If you aren't too picky, go to your local Walmart or other grocery store. They usually have mattresses on clearance because nobody thinks to buy one there. I got a great, king sized, memory foam mattress for $250 at Walmart. You don't need to break the bank if you look in the right places.

For what it's worth, I'm also quite large (6'5" and 360ish pounds) and a side sleeper. Purple is the most comfortable thing I've ever laid on and it's not particularly close.

Our mattress is shot and I'm hunting for a new one. I basically don't trust any of the sites that pop up on searches because who the hell knows who's paying them or not so I thought I'd come to the place where I know people know a little something about spending time on a mattress. We aren't trying to spend a fortune and what I've read leads me to believe there's no reason to and I'm looking for peoples experience. It seems like Nectar has gotten really consistent reviews so that definitely interests me. We would possibly be interested in something like Sleep number or Tempurpedic. I'm not real picky on firm or soft as long as there's support. She would like something a little on the softer side and we both want something cool although we kind of intend on getting and Eight Sleep system or something similar in the future if needed. Any feedback or things to avoid is appreciated.
I almost pulled the trigger on a Dream Cloud about a month ago.

We’re somewhere in the 8-9 year range on our T&N queen and it hasn’t changed at all. I’m not a small person either (6’6” 335 lbs) . We looked at going king with the same mattress but they’ve gotten outrageously expensive compared to what we got ours for. The original king is now around 1500 bucks. The higher options are 2000+.

$600 queen. You are talking about the mattress, right?

Yeah, that’s how much they used to be for the Tuft and Needles. They’ve gotten significantly more expensive.

Edit: Just looked and they’re 20% off and 800 for the queen.

Another vote for Tuft & Needle. Six years in and it feels like the day I pulled it out of the box.

My girlfriend has a dream cloud (the more expensive firmer one). It is awesome, sleep amazing on it. After a few years of sleeping so much better at her house I have no clue why I haven’t bought one yet.

So I'm 210, side sleeper, and tend to sleep hot. We got the Tempurpedic Breeze medium hybrid 3 years ago. I don't find it as comfortable as our old bed when I first climb in, but I can tell a huge difference in the morning. The back, hip, and knee pain I used to have is gone.

The wife isn't as big of a fan.

They aren’t great for the boom-boom. No bounce.
