Looking At Texas

I posted this in another thread as well...

Texas uses three running backs and they have 53, 52 and 51 carries on the season. Breece has more than all three combined. So their backs will have fresh legs and that could hurt. Plus you throw in Ehlinger's ability to run AND throw. I could see Texass racking up a lot of points on Friday.

Weird way to say it but basically it doesn’t matter come tomorrow. If ISU wins it’s in, loses it’s out (virtually).

I completely disagee with this statement. Can not believe it was even made. Perpetual weakness.......really? Maybe offensively until this year, but the defensive line has been solid.

Yeah, I'm not really sure ZRF even watches football.

Austin has become quite the player in the craft distillery boom, and none of it would be possible without those Iowa farmers. Just this year, Tito's vodka, started by a Texas graduate named Bert Beveridge, became America's top-selling distilled spirit. Beveridge got the first legal permit to distill in Texas in 1995, but the competition has grown since. In 2008, there were nine vodka distilleries across the state. Last year, there were 140. Many of those beverages are made from American corn, and nobody in America produces more corn than Iowa, which is projected to produce 2.4 billion bushels in 2020 alone. So here's to you, Iowa State and Texas (and Bert Beveridge). Teamwork makes the dream work.

Looks like T-storms tomorrow in Austin..... hopefully no lightning in the area at game time or it could be a long day. Beats sunny and in the 90's though for our hopes IMO.

I'm only worried about Texas just bringing the house on nearly every down and us not being able to adjust to it at all..... just like the Okie State game. If we can adjust to the heat that Herman will surely bring.... we win fairly easily IMO.

Ellinger 3rd down runs for 1st downs concerns me. Also tackling him as he is a lot stronger runner than what you would think. Always falls forward for an extra yard or two.

Seems like the key with Texas is making sure Ehlinger doesn't beat you with his legs. On offense, I think we need to mix it up a bit and keep them guessing run or pass. I think Purdy needs to present a run threat too, to make them rush with discipline.
Anyone know about the travel itinerary to Austin? How many going? Size plane? Anyone at the airport?

Texas in the beginning will play the bully. They will come out with their chests puffed out and try to physically dominate us. In spite of the records and what the metrics say they'll feel they are the better team to lowly Iowa State and will expect us to wilt after they punch us in the mouth.

This team i feel can withstand those early haymakers. As with anybody that is used to getting their way when ISU doesn't back down and is showing fortitude and aptitude the bully will start to complain. Look for the Texas players and coaches to whine to the refs because in their minds the only way lowly ISU can stay with them is to get away with penalties. They'll start resorting to underhanded and shady physical play to gain an advantage. When this happens guess we'll see how receptive the refs/B12 will be to prop up one of their wounded kings.

FIFY

That’ll last about as long as it takes our lines to start shredding theirs—especially Will and JaQuan.
