Long John's Ames - Closed

Come to think of it....

I did drive by today...LJS looked so sad sitting there empty. :-(

Prime location, hope another guilty pleasure takes up shop there.

On a vaguely related note due to being very close I said location, how cool is the great clips dude who stands on the corner singing and dancing all day with his reggae hat on?

Love that guy. Is he out there on the real cold days also?

Its not been doing well for some time, maybe the revamp later this year will save it, but I'm skeptical.
For 2012, even before the rebranding initiative, LJS posted its best operational numbers in a decade, he said. A 5 percent increase in comparable store sales yielded a 50 percent increase in bottom-line income, Kern said, as management worked to cut fixed costs.
I really meant doing well relative to the last 20 years

I haven't eaten at LJS in years but this thread is making me crave some chicken planks with malt vinegar

I haven't been to LJS in years but since I can't have it now I'm kind of craving it. On a related note, why hasn't anyone opened a new restaurant in the old Diamond Daves location at the mall? The place has been empty for years.

There used to be a Hardees in there up till the mid-90s and I wonder why they closed. They had to have done decent business.

Drove by today. Surprised that the LJS signs are still up. Doesn't the national office tend to rush in and take down the signs when a franchise closes?

It was a nice touch to have thanks on the message board.
