Live from BISON nation.

ok the fact of the matter is this...u beat minnesota when you were having your best year and they were having their worse year...central michigan is a MAC team not a big 12 team...big difference...another fact u guys milk cows for fun up there...82% of your fan base cant read and rides horses to work...fact ISU has 9 returning offensive starters..a running back that is a florida transfer...new coaches that are hungry...and a fan base that will be out in the masses for the game and one thing about ISU fans is that we can be just as loud as any other big 12 team...so come to ames feel free to tailgate and look at all the things u will never have in north dakota and get your *** kicked

I was going to rep you for getting this thread to 300, but the worlds longest run-on sentance changed my mind.

OK......I will tell NDSU coaches they should just cancel the game. If they decide to show up they should remember to get down on their knees and bow to the almighty cyclones. Give me a break, you cyclone homers are twice as full of yourselves as any Bison fan.

Ok I have been reading on here for a while, mostly because I find it amusing but Bison is right. This site has some of the biggest homers I have ever seen. Trust me, I have seen some homers, I look at hawkeyenation almost every day. To say that NDSU doesnt have a chance is laughable. You won 2 games last year and have a new coach. You have no idea what kind of team you are going to field. I see some of saying you are going to put up 60-70 and that is just funny. You would think ISU is coming off a national championship. But no ISU is coming of 10 straight losses. Is it likely that NDSU will win? NO but it is possible. Good luck and I will see you in Ames in a few weeks.

Thanks for signing up to say that. It was important that this was posted because I was just thinking to myself, "self, I'm thinking we need some hawkeye perspective in this thread". So, again, thank you.

Perfect... Another hawk fan joins CycloneFanatic. :cute::SLEEP::arghh:
You don't happen to be one of the hawk homers, that predicts Iowa to go to the Rose Bowl every year do ya? Or, one that predicts Iowa to Win the NC every year?

Most are not garaunteeing a win or saying 60-70 points. Most are just curious as to the logical reasoning that Bison fans have for thinking they can upset. Most are citing the fact that they were good in Div 2, so they will always be good and Div 2 tradition is an equalizer to Big 12 talent. Others stated that since UNI has beaten ISU, that NDSU will to. Some Bison have stated that since NDSU has beaten FBS teams in the past, that it means an upset is that much more likely.

We haven't heard much in the way of real position by position talent comparisons or much analysis of either teams strengths and weaknesses. Mostly just, you guys are at the bottom of the Big 12 so we are better than you.

The fact is NDSU has never beat an FBS by a significant margin, but then neither has a FBS team beaten NDSU by a significant margin. Limited data points as we only have 5 though.
I think I have been pretty consistent here, as have most other visiting NDSU posters. I may have missed it, but I have not seen any post from an NDSU fan claiming a sure thing NDSU victory. The reason why more NDSU fans are not here is due to past issues with some getting out of hand at gopherhole. In general, Bisonville frowns on posters coming over here, but I think it adds to the fun of an upcoming game if visiting fans are reasonable. Again there has been very little obnoxious stuff so far even though some cyclone fans think so. So if you don't want NDSU fans here unless we only glorify ISU maybe you don't want any visitors.

You were doing so well, but then this guy came in and ****** in your Cheerios....

Oh please, NDSU dominated the GOPHER team if you look at the stats, AND NDSU dominated Central Michigan 44-10 in their stadium and that team WON the MAC and GMAC Bowl.

Im not going to say NDSU wins by 20.

however. I believe NDSU will win, and Im here to educated and keep you informed of NDSU so you guys its not so shocking for your fanbase.

Look, all we are saying is that some of you guys get annoying. You aren't too bad but some nerve has been struck since my original post.

If you are going to come on to a Cyclone message board and call the posters arrogant you should expect to receive some unkind words back. It is no different than walking in to an opponent's stadium and immediately bad mouthing everyone there.

As always, like all fan bases, there are the few sour grapes that ruin it for the rest of us. Hawks, Clones and Bison included.

I think the NDS fans are probably wondering how fans of a team that has won 9 games in 3 years and is on a 10-game losing streak can not only guarantee victory, but guarantee said victory is by 28 points.

North Dakota State probably won't beat ISU, but they're not going to be intimidated either - there isn't any reason for them to be intimidated.

Too many people are taking a macro view of this match up. Take a look at the statistics individual returning players put up last season and who they put those numbers up against. You might be surprised at the advantages ISU has.

Are you talking about ISU versus Iowa on this, because this is spot on if so.

Thanks, I knew I spelled that wrong but I was on a rant and just went with it.
I wonder the same thing. I do not garauntee victory and if we do win, it will be by less than 28 probably. I think we will win, but this game will probably be more of a tune up with possibly a bit of sputtering early due to the new offense.

ya ndsu throttled the gophers in stats and won by 6! stats are more important than points scored. I remember laughing about how ndsu were favored by 8.5 points and ndsu's kicker missed a couple dozen chip shots to allow me to win some cash! thanks drago! I'm not trying to make excuses for minny, but it was a transition team, guys were arrested, playing a ton of freshmen, new system! ndsu was a senior dominated team and they were a lot bigger than us in the trenches...isu is much better offensively than what the gophers were when ndsu squeaked out a victory. I say 31-10 isu. ndsu has a poor group of recievers, decent dline, bad qb, and a poor secondary.

I agree. I think the advantages are there. It all comes down to execution on O and D. I think we will do enough to win. Many on this site will agree that games were lost last year due to poor coaching. I think we will have an advatage in that area this year as well.

Here's another interesting stat. Their leading returning receiver is their now starting running back who caught 9 passes last season. Their leading returning receiver that plays receiver had 2 catches last season. I can see ISU focusing on the run without worrying too much about the pass.

You killed this thread with stats!

3 wins in how many match-ups? I think 25, so....a 12% chance that NDSU will win. Seems a little high to me, but perhaps.

UNI has won 3 of the last 8 against ISU (wins in 1992, 1994, 2007; losses in 1996, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006). That's closer to 40%. And two of those ISU victories came by a field goal or less, so it's not like UNI could not have won. I also see an 11-point win over Illinois State; the box score shows that it was fairly competive game.

Look, I think all signs indicate that ISU will win. I am just saying that it is not a sure thing and certainly not a sure blow-out win for ISU.

Gee, it's a site for Cyclone fans. Do you think there might be a few "homers" on it? What a ridiculous post.
