Let's talk WVU v ISU

RIOT BOWL Has anyone came up with a trophy? We expect a good game from ISU as always and maybe a little more as it is Coach Paul R. last game. WVU got win #6 last week, so no one is sure whether we will come out with our best effort. Hope all who make the trip have an enjoyable visit and a safe trip. Here's to a good injury free game.

Hearing Ga. Southern's Willie Fritz(cbs sports) may be in the running for the ISU head coach position. Very good coach, but he does run the triple option, which would be bad news for your current qb and wr core(of course they are big and would be good blockers).

Changing to triple option would have some short term pain, but it would be effective i think once he got the type of players he needs to make it work.

I really doubt we hire a coach that runs a triple option offense.

Anyways, it's our turn again to be the team that fires it's coach and wins one for the gipper. ISU 34 WVU 28.

Ok...I'll try this again on this thread. Fritz doesn't run a true triple option. Most of the time they actually run an offense very similar to what ISU has run the past three weeks, using the read option with an option at times to a WR coming across. It's more of a power run read option.

Fritz has used other schemes over the course of his career.

Like many others have said, we come out string, may even hold a lead and do nothing in the 2nd half. Can't see how anything magically changes in CPRs last game, as much as it pains me to say. WVU by 24.

Three year project.

I think it will be a close game, but Iowa State will pull it off without self-destructing in the second half. 35-32 ISU

Honestly, I have liked the way this team has been playing. They have done well unless they had to deal with top tier WR and the like. I hope Rhodes goes out with a big away win.

Big game for Jameel McKay down low. 19 and 16 with 3 blocks.

ISU 82
WVU 75

Is Devin Williams dead in this hypothetical?

Best one I've saw.

Cyclones come out string, WVU comes out scissors and gets the win.

Lanning is very familiar with the power run option, so that would be a good fit for him.

Just because he runs an option system does not necessarily mean he's going to bring it here. He's coached for 30+ plus years I think he can run other offenses.
