Let's all watch this erection together!

A pic I took over lunch today.

I went there around noon today as well. It is awesome looking in person. I also think it's amazing how much space there is for speakers in that thing as well when you see it in person and can see how small the guys working on it are compared to each section.

Does anyone have an idea what the white tarp is doing on the concrete wall at the base of the east grandstands (visible in the webcam)?

Iowa Games opening ceremonies. They have a bunch of sponsor banners hanging along the east wall, and at least one in the east stands.

I got to see it when I was in Ames for a golf tournament last week. The first time you drive into Ames and come around the corner on University Ave. and see that scoreboard your jaw will drop. The pictures are great but it does not even come close to seeing this thing right in front of you. It is an entirely different perspective that you just don't get looking at a picture. That thing is freaking HUGE.... and yes.... "that's what she said" in advance.

We really need to paint or replace those seats in JTS, they look ugly.

Can't wait to see that thing in action during a game.

Last year from section 18, hard to see the video replay, which might not be working anyway.

This year: Straight shot to a three-story HD screen. I'll probably be able to see.

How does our videoboard compare to the U of M's? I was there at Tcf today and it is huge.

Will it be ready for the Shrine bowl? If not, how are they going to deal with all the construction going on around the scoreboard?

After reading some of the posts in this thread (the first couple pages), I really wish I'd been around for this. With this title, there was/is seemingly ENDLESS potential for jokes

Make everyone go through the West, South, and East gates and stay on the concourses? That wouldn't be that hard.
