I’ve run a toro personal pace for the past 6 years. I use it to mow a neighbor’s yard and my yard. It’s been solid. Change oil every spring, clean air cleaner at least twice a year, sharpen blade twice a year.

When it comes to fall I can power through any amount of leaves with it no problem. E-Go mower my neighbor has that I mow and mulch with has had charging issues since it was new last year. Sometimes it will last 10 minutes sometimes it will only use 3 of the 5 bars. Mulching leaves in the fall uses a lot more power and there have been times that I can’t get his yard done on one charge.

Just my opinion but I love the power and torque of a gas engine over an electric. I’ll get another Toro Personal Pace as I am in the market as the rear tires on mine are smooth I’ve used it so much.

Thought Honda stopped selling gas push mowers on North America last year.

They've stopped building them, you can still find them out there for sale as they work through stock. If you're in the market for one now is the time.

Multiple neighbors have E-Go mowers. They have issues I don’t have with a very old gas mower. I don’t think I’ll be making that switch.

I bought a Toro TimeCutter 48 inch Zero Turn that replaced a similar Ahrens. The ergonomics and mechanics on the Toro are fine but I am disappointed in the quality of the cut. My yard is not terribly even and when I mow along slopes or around trees there are always lines. This aspect was much better on my Ahrens.

I mow a neighbor's yard with his EGO mower with a 7.5 amp battery. Today I was mowing it and it was down to two bars and all the bars started flashing red. He also had has an EGO blower with a 4 amp battery. All are about 4 years old. He took the batteries to Ace Hardware to have them checked out. Turned out the batteries are going bad. For a 7.5 amp battery and 5 amp battery it would be $850. For a new mower and both batteries, along with a smart charger it would be $850. He got the new mower.

Mine is on it's last legs, I kinda want to go battery powered, but scared.
I was in the same position last summer and I took a chance on a new Ego battery powered mower. I absolutely love it!

  • The battery is way more than enough for my normal size lawn.
  • It's very light and easy to move around, so no need for self propelled.
  • It takes up a much smaller footprint in my garage because I can stand it on end if I want (see below).
  • Much quieter than a gas mower.
  • Much easier to start - just press a button.
  • Don't have to mess with gas and oil.
  • Don't have to worry about winterizing it after the mowing season.

We've been talking about battery powered mower and snowblower....We've got neighbors with the mower and they like it. We have nearly a half acre so we'd need extra battery. (Yes, we push mow!)

Though it might be the better deal to get the matching snowblower, I'd assume the batteries would work for both.

Is it hilly? If so that's one thing that would give me hesitation.

I dipped my tow in the water with an Ego trimmer this year. I'm happy with it so far. Will probably grab their mower when my current gas mower gives out.

I got an Ego trimmer that came with an extra battery a could weeks ago. I love it. So much quieter and has as much if not more power then our smaller gas one. Highly recommend. We like the auto line too so we don’t have to bump to get string.

I just bought a 21” ego. I have a torn meniscus that I’m waiting on surgery next week. Mower is very lightweight and cuts amazing. Every bit as well as a gas powered. Battery lasts about 45 minutes. Which works ok for me since it uses the same 56 v as my weeder and leaf blower. Pretty sure I’ll buy their snowblower this fall.

Not too terribly bad. Between trimming and mowing I'm done in an hour and 45 minutes.
My SiL has an ego mower and I take care of her lawn when she travels, which is a lot, it works well but she has a pretty flat lot, I've wondered how it would do on a lot like ours which is about 1/3 of an acre with some hills.
