I see a very capable scenario of getting 5 games before the Big 12 tourney. A road win on Tues. would be a huge win for this team right now, and a much needed confidence builder.
I am really liking the Van/Ham combo getting the minutes. If DG can carry some confidence over from the ou game, that should really help the Lucca factor. Going .500 in conference play the last 10 games would be a huge step forward for this team.

@KSU - Possible W
Mizzou - Possible W
Colorado - Needed W
@OSU - ?
@Kansas - L
KSU - Needed W
Baylor - ?
@A&M - ?
@Nebraska - Possible W
TTU - Needed W

I can see us getting as many as 8 more wins if we play like we did Saturday. But I can also see us getting 2 more if we don't show up especially on the road. With Diante driving it really takes the pressure off of the 3-point shot which is what has failed us on the road so maybe we can pull off 1 or 2 wins.

My prediction, we finish 7-9 and the fire McDermott talks end until the first loss next year.

Agreed. I think a big key to all of this will be whether or not Diante comes out and plays like he did against Oklahoma. The man could not be stopped from going to the rim, and you can tell he's got some decent court vision. He would spot openings around guys very quickly, and since he can change his direction just as fast, he can jump on those and get to the basket. Diante doing that just helps the whole team on the offensive side. Give-n-go, kickouts, drawing defenders and then dumping it to the post.. the drive factor can help a ton.

I'm still not sold on us on the road, but I definitely think we should be able to take a number of these down the stretch. If we can do that, it'll give us some confidence going into tournament time, along with hopefully a little bit better seeding. There's some time left, and if we can play teams like we did Saturday, I don't think NIT is completely out of the question, but we'll have to show them something during the remainder of the season and during the tournament in the form of wins.

This team is improving so much, game to game, and yet so incredibly inconsistent due to youth, that I just can't take it more than game-to-game. I simply can't envision what these guys will look like five games from now, let alone ten. :yes:

I was looking at this earlier...We have a home game against Missouri and a road game against Kansas...other than that we are done with the top 4 teams in the standings. Still need to play well...

1-2 wins (80% chance)

3-4 wins (50% chance)

5-6 wins (30% chance)

7-8 wins (15% chance)

9-10 wins (5% chance)

I see one sure win (Colorado @home, if we lose that McDermott should put his house on the market) and I see about 3 possible wins, average that out and I see about 2 wins to finish Big 12 play, not good at all. I have seen nothing to make me think otherwise, yes we have played close to some teams, but it seems like we are playing close to bad teams too. (Hawaii, SDSU, Houston Baptist & Colorado)

I will only look to the next game on the schedule. And that is K-State. Won't look to the next game until after this one.

Unfortunately for us, K-State has been playing as well as anyone in the last ten days. They are very tough defensively and we are very weak offensively. This is a bad matchup.

I think we'll get four more, so we'll probably get three and end up 4-12.
