Lake Laverne update

Not sure how that thing does not winterkill. There must be a few deep holes, but it looks like a 3' deep muck hole for the most part.

Springs perhaps? Last I saw it within the year there was a healthy fish population.

I think you have it. Must be some pockets plus springs that keep the O2 levels. There are a lot of bluegills in there and a decent number of largemouth. I've never seen a big fish of either species, but that's just from walking by it once in a while.

What a great project and an awesome way for a retired ISU professor to honor his recently deceased wife who was also a retired ISU professor.

ISU is already known for having a beautiful campus, but this major enhancement of Lake Laverne will really increase the curb appeal and enhance student recruitment efforts.

I don’t know why, but photos of campus, especially Lake Laverne from uncommon angles, hit me with a wave of nostalgia. They take me right back to the spring of my freshman year, when the weather finally started to turn and everyone was outside.

I am not sure I am excited about them possibly finding some thing at that bottom of that lake. What is statute of limitations now adays?
Depends. Did you dump a body? Or did you throw something from a chemistry lab in there? Not that I would know anything about the former, or why you would ask me that, or were about to ask me that. It felt like someone was about to ask me that.

We took our floor picture in Lake Latrine in the late 80’s. It was like stepping into a sewer. Had to throw away our shoes after that. Couldn’t get the smell or black off them.

I don't think I want to discuss this here.

I remember doing Polar Bear Plunge, and the cold was far from the most objectionable part of it. Pretty sure some people ended up wearing condoms during the plunge to protect their goods.
