I think I just Kempt in my pants.
He doesn't have the talent but this is why you start a senior over a freshman. He knew what to do and didn't get rattled. Threw where he was supposed to and gave our good group of receivers a chance on all but one ball that I remember.
BECause we have montgomery and Lanning I don’t think it matters as much that he doesn’t seem to run the greatest.
I don't think this team needs a flashy qb. It just needs someone to get the ball to play makers and make smart plays. Today, Kempt did just that.
To be honest, he wasn't pressured in the pocket much to the credit of the O line
General Manager Matt Campbell was smart enough to go out and get a solid backup. As Bruns just said on the postgame, this win was set in motion months ago. This staff is legit. We've got players, but we have some pretty damn good coaches too.

Park is still the better QB. He’s got NFL talent and he was a blue chipper out of high school for a reason.

I wasnt sure early. His first throw was weak and late and missed Montgomery on what should have been a touchdown. But from then on he was fantastic. He looked better than park from then on. He was calm and finished the game with a perfect pass to lazard.
We didn't even screw up taking a knee at the end!
That's what I saw. A guy calmly making the plays that he has the ability to make. He may not throw the thirty yard out off his back foot, but he can put it where our guys have the chance to catch it.
Yeah, buddy. That is how a good football program operates. Plug and play. I hope Iowa State grows into an amazing football program.
