Sure but Army also took OU out of it play clock wise. It's not just a grinder on a defense, when your offense doesn't get out there like usual it can take them out too.
I mean, this was a playoff OU that wasn't that far away from playing for a Natty and Army just kept beating them down.
Ya and we lost to Louisiana. Ou was not giving their A effort that day.
Again, he wouldn't be my choice just because of the time it'll take to adjust, recruiting for it, etc.

Sure but we all know now that Louisiana was good last year like Army was that year. (Don't know how a triple option team put up 70 in a bowl game)
It's a style that can grind you down is all I'm saying and it's a style that I would hate playing against before a big game.
This will be an interesting time there.
I'll probably work myself into a panic but what happens when the B12 talent on the other side puts up 2 quick scores? Week in and week out at the P5 level, I just don't see it working. They will probably pull a surprise upset with it every now and then but there's a reason why no one runs it outside of the Academies and some very small schools.
I actually think with high end caliber players the option would dominate. Forcing the defense to pick it's poison is great when you have three guys that can gash you at any moment. Not to mention how easy it is to break into the second level when your safeties are 10 yards off the ball.
People think defenses are too good for it now. They were good back when it was dominate as well. Much of it is ebbs and flows of philosophy.
Dude is one of the best in the business at running it well. If ku gives him 5 years and he gets his owns recruits, he stands a reasonable chance at being competitive. It's hard to defend because it is co.completely different than anything you defend against week in and week out. You have to start from scratch for that week of prep co.pared to any other team on the schedule.

Which side are you taking then? Does KU get team's 'A' effort? 'C' effort workd better if they run a "normal" offense with less talented players.
I personally hope they run the triple option, out of curiosity, but it's not better when we play them if they do.
They can do whatever they want. My point in that particular message was good teams can play below potential and I think people read into it too much, like last year when we lost our first game but then won the conference.
I'm all for KU doing something different. We did.
