KU HC David Beaty has been fired

Right now? I think so. KU was going to win 3-4 games, which is awful, but Rutgers is in a different world and not moving forward. KU was moving in a positive direction. Slowly, but they were moving that way.

Recruiting was going to kill them. They probably had to do this to sell hope.

did you vote for Holgorsen or Herman?

University of Kansas needs to fire the athletic director, and get the president to overrule the AD and retain the coach. As divisive as Pollard has been in the past, I am a Pollard fan today. He has been AMAZING for ISU. Pollard has gotten his people in place in various sports, been patient with them, and given them the facilities and behind-the-scenes support to win. Kansas doesn't have a Pollard, and that is their problem.

You mean Hawk fans don't like him.

KU's AD is new. Anybody that says KU should have kept Beaty obviously knows nothing about the situation. He was hired because of his supposed relations with TX HS coaches and last year he signed 2 TX HS players. This year he has a total of 1 commitment for the complete class. He can't sign KS kids because they don't believe in him. The fans gave up on him last year. The last 2 games were the lowest attendance #'s in decades and the last game was full of Cyclone fans, so without them it probably would have been the lowest attendance # in 60 years. He had to go. The first thing this AD did was hire an assistant AD just for football. There's rumors they are going to spend a lot on the next staff. They've ignored football for quite a while so I'll have to see it to believe it but they could actually go out and hire anybody and that person would have a very good shot of being better than Beaty.

Yeah, we've heard...you're getting Les Miles.

Since you're here I'll ask what are the state of the football facilities? (I suspect they're sub-par) Because spending money on The Hat is nice but if you're training and practicing in a dump what's the point long term? Les isn't a young man and if KU blows their wad on a guy who's there for five years, then what?

KU need to have a shovel in the ground on a new practice facility / training facility / stadium (upgrades?) in the Spring to go with their blockbuster HC hire or it won't yield sh*t.

Facilities are very good. The training and locker room was rated 25th in the nation by 247sports. The new practice facility is already being built and will be done in a few months. The stadium has to be the very worst in the country. KU hasn't done anything to it in 50 years. I actually think the Hatter would be a grand slam because of several reasons but I don't think he'll come here.

Even weirder, KSU tells Snyder it's time to go and Snyder signs on with KU and beats KSU next season.

Retires during the second year to get his son the job and Sean proceeds to drive it even more into the ground.

KU has big money to throw around? Thought I heard this was the basis for hiring Weiss. A lot of money doesn't necessarily get you a good coach.

"Of course, Miles’ reported $9.6 million buyout from LSU in 2016 included a stipulation that he must seek another college coaching job. So it remains to be seen what type of fire exists beneath all this Miles to KU smoke."

Now all the Miles talk makes more sense........

Similar to Butch Jones at Tennessee. Except he gave them the finger and went to work at Alabama for $35k/year as an analyst.
