Iowa State vs. Kansas to kick off at 6 p.m. in Lawrence. Game televised by FSN.

Shoot, I was hoping for an 11AM kick so the team could be back in Ames early Saturday night to get a head start on the short week.

It's been 11 years since we've won in Lawrence. This seems like our best shot since then to grab another one. Hopefully it's for win #7 to improve bowl position.

This was literally the only realistic slot that I would be able to watch the game. I had my fingers crossed hoping it would come out like this. It's perfect!

Dark day in Cyclone football if we drop this one.

Will you shut up?

Seriously, I understand tempering expectations and not overlooking a team. KU is not a sure win by any means. But seriously, you DO NOT have to be a Debbie Downer and talk about the worst case scenario every effing time.

This is not just for you, this is for all of the Negative Nancy's out there that just can't get over it. Yes, ISU has dropped some heart breakers. That does not have to define you as a person and it definitely does not define this team as losers for all of time.

CPR has the entire football program headed in the right direction. It will not be an instantaneous change but the momentum is positive.

If you can't get over losses from the past then you need to just quit watching.

Possibly, but nothing will beat the feeling of 2005. Darkest day in Cyclone Football history, IMO.

Ahh Black Saturday... **** away a Big XII North title during the day; Get our *** handed to us in Hilton by Iona that night.

You are extrapolating a lot from my sentence. I think you need to simmer down, I actually think we will win this game by 4 TDs. I just stated it would really suck to lose to a team that's as bad as KU is. Doesn't mean it will happen or I predict it to....yikes.

Sorry, wasn't really trying to go after you personally and I understand where you were going with it. Now that I think about it, you aren't really one of the real negative posters on the site.

It was more just a general rant about a LOT of people on this site going straight for the negative over and over. Some people seriously live to post:
"This is when we are gonna blow it!"
"See, I told you we suck!"
"CPR is gone after this season!"

Stuff like that. It drive me nuts. We have a really good coach who has the program headed in an upward trajectory. We are bringing in solid recruits as well. They are not 4 stars, so people have to rag on them. Just look at what our staff has done with guys who are arguably less talented than the last two classes. Think what they can do with a little more base talent to work with, even if it might be under the radar.

Again, sorry for singling you out. I am just a little tired of opening a new thread and about 5 posts in someone has already posted the most negative thought they could possibly have. It happens a lot on here.

Yeah Eric I know your pain....In 1978 I made the trip down to Lawrence KS to see a top twenty ISU team struggle to beat one of the worst KU teams in all of football history, 13-6.....

We always play Lousy Football in Lawrence KS and usually lose, hopefully CPR can get the team to play lights out and bring home a WIN.

Love the glass and graciously accept. *tosses a cold one back your way as well*

I get the frustration with the debbie downers. They are the same people who will be praising the ground Rhoads and the players walk on when they win. We have a VERY passionate fanbase to go with a VERY passionate coach. I think people just don't wanna be letdown so it's their defense mechanism used to mask potential heartbreak. I just love the fact we have fans that care and get so vested. It's exciting and good to know our program is in great hands. I offer you something worse than these debbie downers: those "fans" that just don't care week to week on how their team does. I had a hawk coworker tell me they neither watched, listened to, or just generally cared about their game with Indiana. I asked if he had something going on where couldn't see it. He said no, he just caught up on a tv series instead and caught the final score later.

Yeah, that's just lame. It will take a few more years and a few more good seasons before we can sway some pessimistic fans I think.

You should find tickets for next to nothing. KU looks really bad, basketball season has started and Springsteen plays that night. I know quite a few people that are trying to sell their tickets now because of the Springsteen concert.
