ISU basketball whenever they met about the decision for KG not to play:
5 minutes of an explanation from TJ, maybe KG says something to the team thanking them for their support, hugs from teammates and moving forward to maybe have the best practices they've had in a long time since everyone knows where things clearly stand including KG cheering on the team and helping guards.

CF for days on end:

a man in a blue shirt is saying `` i wanna throw up and kill myself ''

The only one I’m throwing under the bus is Keshons dad. And I think he probably deserves it.
Did Keshon’s dad ask for more NIL $?

Because playing extended minutes in the last home BYU game and sitting out forever seems odd, for his dad to pull him.

If you have sources, I want specifics.

And I want them NOW

In ways, this is beginning to remind me of 2014-15. I had not thought of BDJ for some time.
The interesting thing about that is if there's any similarity, TJ has taken a very different approach to the situation for the NCAA tournament.

Bottom line, I think anybody that believes Gilbert could have made a meaningful contribution on the court to help the team win this weekend is living in a fantasy world. And I think it's highly likely the primary reason for that is his injury. It sucks, it has to be emotional for everyone involved. And quite frankly, I don't really care about any of the other supposed rumors as they're pretty insignificant to the main issue. Nothing is likely to diminish me thinking Gilbert has been a great Cyclone and fun to watch. And I'm still optimistic for this team and will be cheering hard for them for as many tournament games as they play.

And RIP to Bryce, that's still such a tragic story that tears me up when I think about it.

I suggest everyone listen to the Chris Williams/Randy Peterson podcast on Iowa Everywhere. Lets shut this thread down and focus on the players who will be pouring their hearts out to make a historic run. The guy doesnt deserve any more fan attention.

At the end of the day. He choose to not play. His loss, and you can’t say I’m not allowed to change my opinion on him. I wish him well, but I am allowed to think he wanted to focus on a future career then have one last chance to play for ISU, and that will change what fans and myself think of him. It also should be noted, it’s not like he already isn’t making money to be on a team, so all this about future earnings etc, is a wash to me.

If this is a legitimate thought from "fans" i would be shocked. We arent in the spot we are without Gilbert this year. We arent a two seed last year without Gilbert. If him not playing because of an injury causes you to change how you feel about him and his body of work as a whole, you are a casual basketball fan using recency bias to determine your opinions/feelings.

Is it disappointing? Yes absolutely. This team with Gilbert and the draw they have(again, because of Gilbert)could definitely make a run this March.

Can they still make a run without him? Absolutely.

The way that "fans" are trying to cope with this and fabricating stories/scenarios based off what they heard from a friend of a friends friends brother who is close to the program is absolutely insane.

You tore me to shreds in the other thread for suggesting this is anything other than injury related. Feel free to listen and come to your own conclusion.

Chris and Randy, who are both extremely close to the program, compared this to an opt out for a football bowl game.

Between TJs behavior and attitude towards this entire thing, and the reports from people extremely close to the program, think what you want...I could not care less. I for one am just bothered by the folks "thanking Keshon for everything."

Just think it is an important listen and dont mind giving Iowa Everywhere a plug.

Couple quick things here-

1. They opted out of the Bowl to get drafted. Does KG really think hell get into the NBA?

2. Would you thank Higgins for what he did for ISU Football?

Personally I believe it is more selfish to play when you know that you aren't 100% and you are so limited that being on the court is actually hurting your team. We have seen injured Keshon for months and it has just been getting worse.

It is infantile that we have fans turning on him for a mutual decision by Keshon and TJ that is what is best for the team.

If we were in the CFP, Higgins would have played. Period. Bowl games in college football are exhibitions. I 1000% supported his decision to sit. If he wanted to risk injury for a chance to improve his draft stock, go for it!

This situation is compareble to Higgins, prior to the Big 12 championship game, saying nahh...thanks but no thanks, Im good. My guys are gonna make you proud though!

Right, Higgins and Co all played in the Big 12 title game, which due to the auto at stake, was a play-in game.

Conference tournaments are becoming the equivalent of bowls due to the importance of the tournament the week after, and its lack of impact on seeding

The NCAA Tournament is of such importance that the regular season is marginalized imo, with its primary purpose to do what’s needed to have the best chance in the NCAA, which is a mix of wins (seed), development, and health

In the NFL and NBA load management is utilized because of this. That’s not as accepted in the college game

I suspect we’ll get to a point in which players opt out of conference tournaments unless there is compensation. Basically a NIL tournament like the ones next year in the non-conference. And for those that feel they have draft prospects to protect, the NCAA Tournament…

Shredded? You went through a bunch of scenarios as fact and seemed to make a bunch of conclusions without evidence.

And do they reference any actual evidence that leads to it being an opt out?

Re: comparing Higgins to this situation: was Higgins hobbling around and unable to play more than a few series in football?

And lastly, Randy Peterson hahahahahahahahaha.

I can certainly agree with this take.

Divorces can be mutually painful.

It's time to move on. All I know is there are 297 teams and over 3800 players who would give their left *** to be able to play in the NCAA tournament. I just saw guys last week crying their eyes out becuase their team was eliminated and they'll never get the chance to play in a tournament.

If he's too hurt to walk fine, if there is something to this dad story and he thinks he's going to the NBA then I lost total respect for him. We'll probably never know for sure.
