Keshon busted his ass for this team and literally spilled blood on the court for it this season. He was front and center yesterday with the selection party.

If you have evidence to the contrary to what TJ said, put up or shut up.

Throwing Keshon under the bus and belittling his injury when you don't know **** about it is some serious hok fan energy. And then, to question why he isn't playing injured, when indeed, his livelihood is on the line (not necessarily in the league), is ******* sad.

I’m not going to “belittle” his injury. He was definitely hurt. I also don’t think that he was some locker room cancer. My belief is that the problem is between TJ and Keshons dad. And if the dad would have stayed out of it, Keshon would have been available at some point during this tournament. Could be Friday, could be S16 or E8…guess it doesn’t matter now. Anyway, that’s what I heard from someone who was sourced in. Dumb away mfers.

Your belief. That's what I heard. From a source.

If you have facts, state them. Until then, it's nothing but conjecture.

Talking about dumbing away.

I started this post for only one reason...... so we could honor Keshon and show Keshon gratitude for what he gave us!
If there is something going on beyond our pay grade, what Keshon gave us was still amazing.
If we are heartbroken by the present situation think how Keshon feels. We will all be back next season........keshon will not.

The thing about this theory is even if it's true it's really not that dramatic. Maybe Gilbert would've played Friday and broken his arm. Maybe he would've sat till the second weekend, scored 22, and the team would've given up 95 and lost. The presumption that Gilbert's-dad-and-Otz-make-nice = Final Four is as much a non-sequitur as Gilbert-out = R64 exit. So long as there are no locker-room issues—and there's zero evidence there are, in fact there's counter-evidence, as @Cyclonepride shared—this is a case of adults making decisions and we can all move forward

I’ve thought a lot about this. Keshon has not been healthy for months, it’s been evident with his play, especially on the offensive end. He has been a turnover problem, likely because some of his mental energy is being devoted to dealing with pain, leading to less focus on taking care of the ball. For us to have the highest ceiling as a team we need Keshon to be healthy. You go back and watch his non conference performance, he was elite, and our best player. He has not been that since December. Where we will miss him most is in the defensive end, as he still has been elite, even when injured which says all you need to know about his toughness.

Do I think he could physically play Friday? Yes. Would he be 100? No. I don’t think he has quit, and honestly think not being able to play to his best ability is likely tearing him up. The right call is to go forward with him out.

That being said, Keshon is one of the most fun guards to watch we have had in my lifetime. Tinsley is my favorite player of all time, but Keshon is in my top 5. He was an elite defender and elite at attacking the rim. I am incredibly grateful to all he has given ISU.

Now, let’s remember 5 years ago we were at the bottom of the barrel, 2-22. Tj has made the tournament all 4 years, and has taken less talented teams to the sweet 16 (even minus Gilbert). We have the guys to make a run. And let’s all remember, this is the single greatest sporting event of the year. Let’s enjoy and support our guys!

Go clones!!

That is the way it should be, but Kenyon Martin and Tucker Devries belie that opinion.

Broom from Auburn has been hobbled and Auburn closed the season losing 3/4.

It's like they make it work any old way they want.

I'm not going to doubt anyone's injury and their ability to play. If Keshon says he's not healthy enough to be able to play... I believe him 100%.

With that said... I think it's odd that he wouldn't travel and be there with the team cheering them on from the bench. That's the ONLY part about this that troubles me at all and has me wondering if something else is going on? Part of me wonders if he was "invited" to travel along with the team even if he wanted?? I really hope that's not the case.... Keshon has given so much enjoyment to this program during his time here, and great memories. I wish him the best and want him to go out on good terms.

This decision was made 30ish minutes prior to selections being announced; KG was there with the team celebrating. If there was something else going on, I doubt that would have been the case. Stop the harmful speculation.

They were just lyrics! Nothing to see here.
I'm still not getting the point. "He shut himself down by tweeting lyrics!" Okay... He played in 88% of the games that are the entire reason they are in the position they're in—and let's not forget they easily could've ended up a 5-7 seed had Gilbert sat when Momcilovic was injured. He also gave it a go the game after the "lyrics incident." There were people in these threads 1.5 weeks ago saying this team is an early out, Sweet 16 would take a miracle. So which is it? If the team was cooked before the Gilbert news then what does it matter? If he does matter, how can one accuse him of quitting when he did the dirty work for the vast majority of the season? They didn't win a regular season title, and probably wouldn't have won the Big 12 tournament even if they'd scraped by BYU. There was really no glory this season in grinding for almost four months to eek out a 3 seed. That took commitment and toughness, whatever aspersions people now want to cast

I would ask you the same thing. What good does it do for you to throw someone under the bus at this point?
The only one I’m throwing under the bus is Keshons dad. And I think he probably deserves it.
