keep it classy booker

A TTU player flipped off ISU at Hilton (WBB), standard was set with a one came suspension.

Not saying right or wrong, I just could see it happening.

It's not a personal thing. It's the action being shown on TV. Im 100% with you. People are too sensative. But to get this under the rug and beneficial to us, got to be a 1 game suspension

I am sorry but it's already under the rug. He will pay a price but to suspend a 5th year senior in what could be one of the last 2 games of his career for a bird is WAY over the top. This is old news regardless come wednesday, would rather have him suited up. Reminded me of Todd Maranovich bird... well except that it was completly unwarranted and a ***** move after throwing the game winning touchdown then flipping off the guy trying to help you up... oh yeah and he wasnt suspended despite it being the cover photo in the papers the next morning.

Is this for real? Get over it. Fans and players from other teams interact at times and they aren't talking about how much respect they have for each other. West Virginia is a sickening fan base. They talked up their basketball team so much because they came from the Big East. They thought they were going to come in and clean up. Their football team can mouth off to Wally B and it wasn't a big deal but Booker does this gesture and its a big deal. (sorry got off topic for a bit) I don't get it. Ideally you wouldn't want him to do it. It sucked TV caught it, he wasn't trying to create a scene just giving the crowd a quick gesture. I think future employers will get over it. I like the passion from Booker. He just needs to direct that passion only to playing.

I'm guessing you're not very good at recognizing very obvious sarcasm.

If you do something wrong you have to pay the consequenses (sp). CFH will do it right. If I had a kid who did the same thing i would expect the same punishment.

I laughed and thought it was funny, I did not care one bit. We were getting bullied the whole second half, now Book's foul was not smart; but flipping off the camera did not bother me in the least bit. Screw WVU and Huggins!!

I understand this. Suspending him at this point doesn't really fit the crime considering it would be a huge game.

Was it wrong, yes. But it wasn't as bad as I expected... He flipped the bird real quick on the bench. Don't think it really warrants a suspension. Believe that would be a little excessive! Now if it really was directed toward someone specifically with a bunch of trash talk then that would be a different story. The gut feeling I got was that Book knew he was on camera and was tired of being filmed.

I don't swear. I don't give people the finger. I'm not a fan of either one. I'm already past this, and it didn't take a 1 game suspension.

It's a matter of principle. To keep our program legit we need to suspend him for a game. If you were a player would you not suspect this to happen? Don't get me wrong, I dont care, but it has to happen

I'm thinking the exact opposite. I think it was toward the fans, and the camera just caught it. I believe it is worse if he purposely gave the finger to the camera.

To keep us legit? What in THE heck does that mean?

I think this is one of those things you take care of at practice and move on. Give him a warning and if he pulls something like this again you can go with suspension.

Fred is building a reputation as a coach who can deal with "problem players". Some how players who can't keep themselves out of trouble other places are next to saints while at ISU. Fred is the reason. If Fred suddenly lets the hammer fall for something this trivial, than he will lose that reputation with future prospects and with his current players.

A public apology and maybe some punishment at practice and call it good.

edit: the saints comment is relative, I'm not saying they are actually prefect or near prefect

Cf old timers will remember,
But this thread reminds me of the thread after Leonard Johnson got ejected after the unlv game and there were several people who wanted him kicked off the team.
