NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

To be 1 game out of first place given the injuries and how the season started is a good feeling. The offense played good again tonight. Looking at the schedule they should only be underdogs in 2 more games (at Buffalo and at Denver). Got Colts, Chargers, Broncos, Commanders, and Raiders at home. Got Broncos, Titans, Texans, Raiders, and Bills on the road.

Wider angle video of the end of game punch Branch gave to JuJu. This tells the story better. Mahomes was doing his normal congratulate the other team after the end of the game but Branch was zeroed in our JuJu. Pacheco trying to hold him back/talk him down. There was a bad miss call on the block in the back earlier, but none of this is an excuse. Sounds like Branch is a hot head and gets a ton of fines.

guessing hes going to get a nice vacation from his employer for a couple weeks

Bills haven't looked good 2 weeks running. They're very average on perimeter and this Is probably as bad as defense has been under McDermott
I assume that contract Josh Allen has probably makes them a little less talented every year as some of their younger guys become free agents. Obviously still a good team but in terms of talent it seems like 2-3 years ago was probably their year to win it if they were going to. Can't pick the Chiefs as the best team in the AFC right now because they are 3-3 but are you really scared of anyone in the AFC based on what you've seen so far? Especially considering the Chiefs seem to be finding their groove and getting healthy.

Insane. I can't believe nobody else in the AFC can take advantage of KC's slow start. Im not scared of Denver at all and you might have to rank them #1 in the AFC as of now.

Denver’s pass rush is no joke. Cannot have games like the Jaguars with 13 penalties and stupid turnovers. Chiefs pass rush needs to pick it up also. Hopefully the offense can keep improving with Rice back. Season is looking up though.

Moore did a pretty good job filling in at LT this week I thought. Especially considering he had to go up against Hutchinson. Could be a possible replacement for Taylor at RT next year.

Hoping with Rice back this offense really starts clicking. Kelce has been getting more involved lately too it feels like. Doesn't feel like we have got the running game going and Mahomes is actually the leading rusher on the team for the season at the moment both in yards and TD which you would prefer not to see. Pacheco and Hunt are practically a 50/50 split on carries at the moment and neither have really had a memorable game yet this year.

The Chiefs just need to trade for Breece, and the running game problem is solved.

It certainly gives them options to move on from Taylor after this season and shows they have at least one depth piece this year in case of emergencies like Sunday.

Staring to feel shades of that 2022 offense coming back. Reliable pass catchers everywhere, incredibly efficient, lethal in the red zone.

I'd be fine with that but curious what the pricetag may be. Kamara is another RB that could be available that would cost less in a trade probably.
Obviously things could change but it sounds like the Saints asked Kamara if he would like to be traded. His response was he wanted to play his entire career in NO and it sounded like they would respect that.

It's all about salary cap, right now. KC has around $4 million in space. Hall has a base salary around $3.5m and Kamara around $2.6m. KC would be on the hook for the prorated portion of that which would be around 50% of the salary depending on when the trade occurred. Hall is a free agent after the season and is 6 years younger. Kamara has a $11.5m base salary next season which KC really doesn't have room for.

It's late round picks no matter what they do but bringing it another RB means there is an odd man out. Unfortunately, I think you're looking at trading Pacheco in the deal which would solve the crowded room and help the financials too.

Kamara or Hall are the two backs the Chiefs need to go after before the deadline. I would take Hall first because he is the younger of the two, being only 24 while Kamara is 30. Neither team is going anywhere, and looking to rebuild, the Chiefs only have 6 picks in the upcoming draft, already trading their 6th pick to NE for Uche. See if the Jets will take a 4 or 5 this year for Hall, maybe sweeten the deal and throw in a lower 2027 pick. Hall will be a FA after this season, as he finishes up his first contact.

Breece isn't doing anything behind an inconsistent line and why pay for him when you can get similar production from 2 backs at a lower price? Pacheco and Hunt look fine. All they need a back for is to set up PA. I'm not sure why anyone pays big $$$ for running backs this day and age. You pay top tier QB's, Tackles, and game changing defensive lineman. Unless Pacheco only wants a small raise Id let him walk this year too

You pay it because it takes the pressure off of everyone else. Pacheco and Hunt run until they run into a defender, neither has the ability to make a player miss and take it to the house. Hall would add that ability to the Chiefs, making their offense even harder to defend. Hall would costs the Chiefs a little more than $2 million to finish out the season, if you like what you get out of him, then make him an offer in the off season, if not, then let him walk.
