It's such a dumb take. He admitted that 2 years ago he probably traveled too much in the offseason, but the guy is happy and it's not like he still wasn't pretty famous, at least in the US, before her. He's still all business on the football field. Hell, Mahomes probably has more off-field distractions with his wife, 3 kids in the last 3 years, his dad's issues, all his endorsements, business investments, etc.I didnt say it was the only problem, just the straw that broke the camels back more or less

He's going to be 37, but he can still play, he just shouldn't be the focal part of the offense. And that's on Reid.
I think the offended person is inside the house.Sorry I offended you Travis
It's not me saying that, its people whose job it is to cover the draft, you are talking like Love did nothing all season long and just shined at the underwear workout. People are comparing him to Barkley and Robinsons. One GM was reported as saying he reminds him of Eric Dickerson.Jeremiyah love is good, but calling him a generational player after a good combine is absolutely wild.
I can name you a multitude of players that had good combines that didnt pan out on a roster
Throw in the fact Walker is not good at catching the ball out of backfield. Walker was 16th in the league in rushing with 1,027 yards on 221 attempts, only 5 touchdowns and a 4.6 average. He only caught 31 ball all season long for another 282 yards and no TDs, plus he is going to cost you a fortune as the leading RB in this class of FA.For those not in the camp of finding a way to draft Love I would like to know what your plan is at RB then. The free agent market is not great and because of that would likely have to overpay a bit Kenneth Walker is the top ranked RB and I am guessing he will cost more than the Chiefs are willing to pay given their cap situation and needs at other positions. Drafting a younger and less expensive back even if it cost giving up an additional draft pick is a no-brainer to me. Pretty much every top RB on the market comes with questions and possibly health concerns too. Top options at RB in free agency are Walker, Etienne, Dowdle, Gainwell, and Allgeier. Not exactly a guy other than Walker that stands out as an every down kind of RB.
I don't want to be stuck with a big money RB when you can get adequate production at a fraction of the price through free agency. Positional value is everything. The top RB's don't seem to add win totals to their team. Philly is somewhat the exception but good GM's don't give huge expensive contracts to RB's. Love hasn't played a down in the NFL.For any back other than Love its not worth it, but for him, I would do everything possible if I am Veach to make it happen. There will be decent DL/Edge rushers at #29 still on the board. People act like Bain is going to be the next Derrick Thomas here, maybe he would be, but if his short arms are a problem and he is just average, than that would be a wasted pick at #9. They have to get a stud in this draft slot, it does not matter whether its RB, WR or along the D line, but they have to get a difference maker. I think Love will be, not sure about Bain or any of the WRs.
Then you have to find one in the draft, and let him play his first four seasons to find out. I and many others are tired of the dumpster diving for a running back, and just thinking Mahomes will be fine. Mahomes is coming off knee surgery, the best and easiest way to take pressure off of a QB is to have a strong running game, so you either get Love, hope one of the other backs drafted lower can do the job or overpay for a FA running back. Those are your three choices, because drafting a RB in the lower rounds really has not worked out well for the Chiefs, Pacheco is not the answer.I don't want to be stuck with a big money RB when you can get adequate production at a fraction of the price through free agency. You can either look back and tell yourself "we did it in the past, and can continue to do it in the future" or do something about it. We won those SB with Pacheco not because of him. The Raiders are a lost cause, so them taking Jeanty last year means nothing to the chiefs current situation. The reason we trade McDuffie was he would not take a team friendly deal and KC has done well finding DBs in the draft in the later rounds.I seem to recall winning two Super Bowls with Pacheco. And the 2020 Super Bowl was won with a guy named Damien Williams.
I am not saying RB isn’t a need. It is. No one would be happy waiting until rounds 4+ to select one. But a very talented RB can be found in Rounds 2 or 3. Achane in Miami is a stud and was a 3rd round pick.
To me, you don’t waste a top 10 pick on a RB. And speculation of giving away important draft picks to move up to top 5 is insane. The Raiders spent a top 10 pick on Jeanty last year and they continue to suck. Don’t go full Raiders.
Besides, I think the Chiefs have already signaled their strategy. DL was a weakness last year. You don’t trade your best CB and make your defensive backfield weaker unless you plan to address the DL as a priority.
Get a RB in free agency. Good teams don't pay for RB's. I mean Seattle is letting Kenneth Walker walk. They are also going to convert more of Mahomes salary to signing bonus. Look at the 2 RB's drafted last year in the first round. Both also in the AFC West were awful. The Chiefs RB's were beater than Jeanty was for the Raiders. If you are going to take an offensive player that high who isn't a lineman take a WR. RB's get hurt and have high bust potential. Then you have to find one in the draft, and let him play his first four seasons to find out. What Super Bowl winners ever do have a high priced and high drafted RB? They don't. Those are the franchises that pretty much suck every year. You pay QB's, offensive lineman(especially tackles), and dominant pass rushers. That's it. Pretty much everyone else you get rid of when they become expensive.I seem to recall winning two Super Bowls with Pacheco. And the 2020 Super Bowl was won with a guy named Damien Williams.

Walker is going to cost you at least $14 million a year, and is a poor receiver out of the backfield. Hall was tagged for $14.3 million a year, and they were saying on the NFL network that they were hearing that if he had gone out into FA, his market would be even more. So you are not saving a lot of money getting Walker. The 9th pick in the draft is slot to get a little less than $31 million over 4 years. You are going to be paying Walker that much for two seasons maybe and over it for three. It would be cheaper to pay Love four years than what you can get Walker for three.Get a RB in free agency. The Eagles did with Barkley last season, his contract is $41.2 million for two years, $36 guaranteed. Walker will end up on a lousy team that pays top $ to RB's. The Chiefs can take a back in round 2 or 4 and get a productive back in free agency. They need to get a pass rusher and McDuffie's replacement in the 1st round.Walker is going to cost you at least $14 million a year, and is a poor receiver out of the backfield. That's it. Who else? How many high priced RB's did the Patriots have. Don't give me 1 Super bowl winner out of 20. Good franchises understand positional value. The Eagles did with Barkley last season, his contract is $41.2 million for two years, $36 guaranteed. Barley was the 4th pick in the draft.
