NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Than any QB playing right now? Clearly. Who cares about the circle jerk GOAT argument. How many titles do other QB's currently have? Lamar Jackson 0, Joe Burrow 0, Josh Allen 0. It's not even ******* close.
You kind of seem to care about where he stands since you’re bringing up where he ranks all time.

You guys are the ones obsessing about 1 bad game. The guy is 3-2 in Super Bowls.
I’m not obsessing about anything. I’m just amused by your meltdown over the past 24 hours.

Also, is Mahomes a very talented qb? Sure. But you’re just assuming they’re going to keep this pace up and putting a huge target on your back.

Not exhausting at all. Mahomes Super Bowl 1st half QB rating: 10.7. Has to be the lowest rating in Super Bowl history. But yeah, he has to still be the greatest QB in the league
Evaluating players based on last game only? I realize you are just trying to be argumentative here and are desperate to argue a silly point… but you have to realize how ridiculous this is. Right?

We played a poor game, it happens, learn from it, fix the mistakes and move on. Hate to say it but it might be for the best for Kelce to retire and free up the money he is due to find a couple of offensive tackles and to fill other needs on the team.

So they have 3 years to win 1 and tie the Steelers for most in a 10 year run. What did you see yesterday that suggests the Ravens and Bills are ready to beat them?
Ravens played them close this year. KCs salary cap is not friendly to hold players. Then If they get there, there are several NFC teams that the chief’s probably can’t beat. Philly tore KC apart. It wasn’t a game.

Jawaan Taylor isn't going anywhere next season. The Chiefs might even be forced to extend him, especially if Kelce decides to play another year. There's not a lot of room in Taylor's contract to move money around, so an extension is really the only way they have to lower his cap hit. Unless they're planning on moving Taylor inside, you can pretty much bank on him being one of the starting tackles.

The Chiefs are 21st in the league with available cap space going into 2025. Not great but not horrible either. Baltimore, Houston, Buffalo and Cincinnati are all worse off than the Chiefs. The Eagles are ranked 18th.
KC will still be strong going forward, just need to figure out the lines on both sides of the ball.

You missed one key there though. Look at how many players it counts for those teams. Most are around that full roster or more. KC is only showing 37 on your list. I believe 53 is a full roster so they need to spend 13.5MM on 16 rookies next year to just have a full squad. Of course they won't get all rookies so that would place them in an area that they need to cut salary somewhere. KC is in rough shape when you factor in the number of players compared to the rest.

yeah, but that's without guys like Justin Reid, Charles Omenihu, Trey Smith, George Karlaftis, Nick Bolton, and others who will need to be resigned or replaced. Some tough decisions ahead.

They've already said they'll move a bunch of Mahomes salary to signing bonuses. They aren't not gonna pay him.

We hear this every ******* year. It was gonna be over when Tyreke Hill left. They will be fine. Chris Jones is who they need to decide if he's worth 40mil. Bolton can walk. He hasn't been good for a few years.

They aren't in bad shape. They can move even more of Mahomes and Jones salary to bonus. Mahomes is only a 37 million dollar cap hit ffs. Nobody has been better at working around the cap than veech.
