Right, but the NE hillside was never exposed to this extreme heat, and I don't recall it ever looking as stressed as the NW hillside does. I understand it doesn't establish right away, but that sod is up against it in terms of weather conditions.
I'm just going to assume that a university with a world class turf management program can handle some freshly laid sod.

Earle Bruce days?!! Good lord, there are some geezers here! ;)

(I’m forced to claim “Donnie Duncan days”)
I was there for Johnny Major's last year. One of the football players, McDonald I think (I'd have to find my yearbook to check), lived on our floor in the RCA. I think the rest of the team lived out in the Towers IIRC.

I guess that makes me a really "old" geezer.

They’re working this morning. Looks like right in front of the Jake, so mostly out of sight. Occasionally you can see equipment moving. Well, that had to happen sometime.

Hmm. Who volunteers to set up a webcam inside the SPC, so we can watch the rest of the work on the plaza?

One would think so. They are definitely watering more today than they have the last couple of days (especially after their inspection yesterday).
I think the grass on Jack looks a little better this morning—except for a spot just south of the support tower. That definitely doesn’t look good.

Almost like someone fell down and broke his crown, without fetching his pail of water. ;)

I drove by it last week and it was really coming together nicely. I hope they will move the camera to the pedestrian bridge construction after this current project is done.
This will really look awesome when all is said and done. Should help with recruiting big time.

It's hard to tell since the angle of the sun can change the appearance of the sod. Later today (when I have time) I'll grab a noon screenshot to compare. The lower bowl is difinitely in the worse shape.

I see what you did there with the pail. :)

That’s interesting. Apparently work going on inside the SPC this morning. Just watched some guys standing outside by the docking bays at about 7:18, then they all went inside.

I only checked the webcam this morning to see the rain, honest!

I wonder if they're a cleaning service hired to do a final cleanup of finished areas of the building.?

Rewinding the feed, they arrived at 6:30 in 3 white vehicles: 2 pickups and a van. They bring stuff outside, clouds of dust appear, and then take it back in; occasionally throwing things in the dumpster.

PS: I too just came to check on the rain.

Anyone know how far along the inside of the SPC there are? Is it done in there? Or is there still a ways to go?

The pic 2150 shows area just east of Majors practice field. I guess they will need a driveway through here, as well as expansion of practice fields? Pretty overgrown right now, and the lower infrastructure of the west gate is no longer there!

Okay, so apparently I was blind. Now I see, “crenellations” of the retaining wall are part of a theme.

Thanks so much for these photos!

They’re currently pouring the second main north-south walkway in the Plaza.

You know, for the next twenty or thirty years or more, some of you will be able to tell your kids and grandkids as you walk into the stadium that you saw that concrete being poured.

They did a brief close up of the sod on the NW hillside.... Wow it looks rough up close. They better start watering in a serious way soon.

One other observation I had from yesterday. The construction traffic, staging area and storage area has pretty much turned C6 into a gravel lot. Of course, driving tent stakes will no longer be a problem there, but I imagine they will have to do some pretty serious repaving there so the high donors are pleased!
