Lay-down area for materials for the McFarland construction.
A staging area? Like this? Okay.

I’m hoping they’ll swing the camera over to cover the McFarland site. But I’m also curious about what they do with the drainage ditches—clearly not going to be spray seed, or they’d have done it already.

Maybe a second cam atop the Jacobson Building?

If you want to see what they’re doing with the drainage ditches…well, see the time stamp this afternoon.

Also more action over by the MacFarlsnd site.

Still an unfortunate eyesore
A necessary eyesore being in a flood plain. I don't even think it looks terrible, but it would add a good number of parking spots if they weren't needed. If they could get seem trees or plants on the slopes that would help.

I don't question the need for adequate drainage, just the manner and location in which they've chosen to achieve it. We're an engineering school, for cryin' out loud ... this is the best they could come up with?!?

My biggest beef is that is is right outside the main facade of the Alumni Center. Picture this: a nice Holiday gathering or even a Wedding overlooking the focal point wall of windows, only to gaze upon ... an open drainage ditch. Womp, womp

I attended a wedding at the alumni center of a friend who is a few years older while I was still in college and can assure no one mentioned the ditches. But fair points.

What was your plan and why did the engineers reject it?
