I do not know much about his recruitment, but his offer list is not that impressive.

Where does one go to get this premium info?going to throw a plug out there for the premium forum membership here. CW has already dropped the names that are likely to hit the portal.
If it was an LOI I agree. But it was a verbal commit. Sorry, don't care if the coaches hadn't called him yet. It's been 3 days since he became coach. And we don't know that an assistant hadn't reached out to him.
As for earning trust, TJ has been here plenty long in the past and many associated with the program both past and present would vouch for him. If that doesn't earn your trust than I don't know what to tell you.

There was absolutely concern because Amardi was a known talent at Indian Hills and little was known about Kane. But were people hoisting the red flags like some are now........well no. That was in Fred's 4th year...........not 4th day. He had sort of earned our trust. And I imagine Amardi was told before hand.
Personally I'm not too critical of this move if it gets us a Carr type of talent instead. You get the best players you can when you can. But if you are the adults in the room, act like it. If they didn't have the common courtesy to at least give him a dear John text...that is not a good look regardless of how you rationalize it.
Agree. This is probably people just upset with the hire and looking for a reason to vent. Knowing what we know now, TJ is absolutely the best coach available with what JP was going to offer. We were not going to win a bidding war for any of the other realistic coaches, including my favorite.Guys. This is so incredibly minor. Relax lol

Those are not even close to the same thing. GMAC had never coached here or at this level. TJ was a coach at ISU for almost a decade. I think it's safe to say he knows what to expect by now.I did use the word "if".
That exact same thing was thrown at me when being skeptical about GMAC with this issue of "trust" years ago. They didn't know what to tell me since so many in the know vouched for him. That held true until GMAC admitted they(including TJ)underestimated what type of player to recruit. Then it became all about integrity. Hope we don't go down that road again.
Good advice in dealing with the emotional "teenagers" on this site too.TJ should(and probably will) say nothing. Responding to an emotional teenager isn’t a recipe for success. Just let him go away.
Not how things should be handled on our side. A quick text saying you are the new coach and will be getting in touch in a few days needed to happen. Only have 2-3 commits, not like football where there are 25-30.
A text or call introducing yourself and just saying you are uncertain of things but you or a staff member will be reaching out more extensively later. 1-2 minutes of your time. How is he supposed to handle it then? Look at it from TJ's side. He knows Hunter is the class of what is coming in. He has a bunch of guys that may or may not want to stay and play, and he probably has some guys in mind in the transfer market and maybe a guy or two he recruited to UNLV. Nunn had 3 other offers, all from mid-majors. TJ has the right to figure out what he has, what he wants to keep and who he doesn't. It would be wrong to contact the kid and tell him, yes we want you, and than a week later change your mind. It is going to take a while to figure out where he wants to go. Nunn could have waited a week, but I get the feeling he decided a while ago and is just using the fact that TJ didn't contact him right away as an excuse to go elsewhere.
