Ah yes, another thread with people trying to find things wrong with TJ. Cry some more.
I run into this all the time with my business as a veterinarian. We have tough discussions with people that are obviously protected by HIPPA and then see these idiots go on social media trashing me and fellow vets for “doing nothing” and how bad of people we are. I so badly want to call them out for the fact that their pet being sick isn’t my fault nor is it my fault you can’t afford a pet little alone the other five dogs in your possession. Oh, and don’t tell me you can’t afford even a minimal intervention while you reek of cigarettes.
Sorry for the rant.
(There’s a reasons veterinarians have a 2.5x suicide rate compared to the general population.)

Wow. I was in the group questioning JP’s process and the fact that it made sense to interview several other candidates in addition to TJ. But, however he did it, JP picked TJ. Go TJ.
The # of folks getting riled up based on one finely worded tweet by a teenager is crazy. I don’t blame Nunn for being upset that it appears that he may not have a schollie from the new coach. It stinks for him. But, to then assume that our new coach is classless, is a bit of a stretch. Step back, take a big breath. Two sides to every story.

We probably don't and won't know all the details. Put it this way: it is getting near closing time, do you stick with the 6 you know you have, or do you roll your dice at an 8 or a 9? Smart move is to wait it out, and see if you think you can land someone better. Nobody likes to be the fallback option. Nobody likes to dig ditches either. In today's age of decommitments and transfers I am not going to be that worked up about it.
I am sure, now that you mention it, a high stress job. I can relate somewhat, dealing with patients and families being in the health care industry (retired now), the hoops, regulations, always having to meet productivity. I don't miss it.
It has been reported on another board that D. Robinson DID contact Nunn. Nunn just wanted to hear it from the HC.

And neither do you. It is all speculation off what a recruit put out there. A recruit from the most important recruiting ground in ISU history. If what the recruit said was true, not spending 30 seconds in a text that is like Pants had is very shortsighted or lazy. You seem extremely wound up about message board speculation, I would suggest you take a breath if you are this attached to TJ, because the shortened search will give him a shorter leash with the fan base in general.
I'm not particularly wound up. But I grow weary of "experts" like yourself making conclusory statements then later admitting that they don't know what actually happened. TJ knows far more about recruiting than you or "Pants" will ever know. Further, he knows the actual facts. And yet you can definitively say that he has done wrong. I'm not attached to TJ at all. I'm just tired of morons on CF basing conclusions on assumptions. Guess you are in that group. Put me on ignore if you don't want to be confronted about taking stupid positions.
There was absolutely concern because Amardi was a known talent at Indian Hills and little was known about Kane. But were people hoisting the red flags like some are now........well no. That was in Fred's 4th year...........not 4th day. He had sort of earned our trust. And I imagine Amardi was told before hand.
Personally I'm not too critical of this move if it gets us a Carr type of talent instead. You get the best players you can when you can. But if you are the adults in the room, act like it. If they didn't have the common courtesy to at least give him a dear John text...that is not a good look regardless of how you rationalize it.

My problem with the "two sides" is that we'll either hear nothing and move on, or hear that "Nunn is lying, a coach reached out" and take it as gospel. There is a 0% chance anyone in the media that works around Iowa State puts out any information detrimental to Otz at this point.
If it was an LOI I agree. But it was a verbal commit. Sorry, don't care if the coaches hadn't called him yet. It's been 3 days since he became coach. And we don't know that an assistant hadn't reached out to him.
As for earning trust, TJ has been here plenty long in the past and many associated with the program both past and present would vouch for him. If that doesn't earn your trust than I don't know what to tell you.
