Jauan Wesley

Timeline:
January 13, 2015 - arrested for OWI
April 16, 2015 - receives deferred judgment and 1 year probation (second chance)
Fall 2015 - suspended by CPR at some point per scout.com link (wake up call attempt/third chance)
October 15, 2015 - probation violation (blows his 2nd & 3rd chances)
November 13, 2015 - deferred judgment has been revoked; pleads guilty to both OWI & probation violation, sent to jail for 2 days, assessed a fine & court costs of just short of $2000
This week - meets with CMC and they agree to part ways.
Oh, and 6.5 months later, he has paid $500 of the $1963 fine/costs. That doesn't jump out at me as a guy who has paid his debt to society.
If I am in the market for transfer athletes, he has to make that payment before he gets an official visit to my campus.

Good post. IMO, this was a fairly simple decision for Campbell given Wesley's troubled past. He's had multiple chances to show he's matured and is beyond getting into trouble, and it seems he hasn't learned yet.

Campbell doesn't strike me as a guy that is going to mess around and waste his time on kids that aren't "all in".

The cupboard at receiver certainly isn't bare. Lazard is clearly the go to guy. After that you have three guys who played a decent amount last year with Daley, Epps, and Ryen.

After that its up to the newer faces like Butler, DLC, Salters, and possibly either of the incoming freshman Jones or Martin.

Losing Jauan certainly didn't help, as i think he had some potential. But as I said before, there is a core of experience with some young talent behind them.

Lazard and Daley were 1-2...so yea he's 3-4th WR option is what I meant..he had some talent but I'm least concerned about WR..clearly u are in full melt down mode though..go take a Dramamine Brett..God some people on here are so damn wound tight

Yeah, bummer to lose depth but if anyone is freaking out they're possibly in the camp that saw ISU's wide receivers as much more than average D1 receivers, which they basically are/were outside of Lazard.

If Wesley couldn't figure it out I'm glad to see Campbell taking care of these things now instead of October when all the new systems and players may be gelling.

I'd have rather had Wesley on the team than not. That being said, I suppose I'd rather lose a WR than a OL or something.

We wanted a coach that would win. Hopefully, we got that. Baylor did, but we got one that wants to keep everyone's nose clean. CMC is trying to establish an identity. One that we all can be proud of.

NIU is to us as what our basketball is to Marquette

I think they have Wesley, Meeks, and Former commit a Tommy Mister

NIU is our other Marquette for basketball! Anderson, Nader, and now Bowie.
