So I know there was talk in this thread about how the numbers on the front of the jersey had to be white due to some new rule on special game jerseys. Can someone post where this came from? They are talking about notre dames custom jerseys for there game tonight at cowboy stadium and It seems as though they get to design however they would like

Does Notre Dame use Adidas or Nike?

I think we decided Nike doesn't use the small numbers, but Adidas does, or something like that.

Weak. I just remember a lot of people dissing them after the game (fans of other teams) as the front looks akward with the big white numbers. I thought that was some rule. A different color at least would have looked better if we couldn't do small in the corner.

anyone else hear when theyd get theirs? I plan on wearing it before putting it on display

I'm going to try and fit my 230lb @ss into mine (size small) then take a pic of myself to use for my avatar haha.

Did anybody else get a confirmation email that said they may mail the nameplates for the jerseys after the players have graduated? That would be pretty cool. It also said they don't know when they would be mailing the jerseys at this point.

In the event that they would send out nameplates it would be a while for mine because it will be a few years before the two that share my number graduate. My jersey belongs to either Tyler Brown or Josh Jahlas..#33.

Per the NCAA - not sure they could have done much different....

  1. Numerals. Clearly visible, permanent Arabic numerals on one jersey atleast 8 and 10 inches in height front and back, respectively, of a color(s)in distinct contrast with the jersey. All players of a team shall have thesame color and style numbers front and back. The individual bars mustbe approximately 1-1/2 inches wide. Numbers on any part of the uniformshall correspond with the mandatory front and back jersey numbers.

This is what I was thinking of. Not sure why they did white. Should have at least outlined the white numbers to give some definition. I know this was discussed forever ago but just came to mind.

I think the design was kind of awkward so that anything BUT white would have been difficult to see in front of the gold french fries..But I personally don't like the white either.

im going to repeat myself again (and everyone else here) I wish these were our permanent jerseys, they were fresh, they are tied to our only traditions, and they are unique to any uni in college right now and would be a huge identifier for us. I find it sad that we cant do a win win like this.

Strongly disagree. They were okay...concept was great. What it represents is great, but the product was marginal. The white numbers especially.

I think the best thing the clones could do was incorporate elements of the throwbacks, the muted color red, the actual gold pants and the socks they wore. The stripes on the jersey isn't unique to isu so I don't think it is meaningful to play that up. Just do an emblem or something to recognize the man in perpetuity like the bears...etc

I know a lot of the women in the offices read these boards so this is for them: Could you guys send out an email explaining exactly when the uniforms will be shipped. Thanks.

Nope! I have never waited this long for an auction item. I think making people wait is a really, really bad PR move on the athletic department.

I was just thinking about this today.....(planned to wear it on halloween lol) the only excuse is that they are going to wear them again which isnt going to happen. Someone send an email to that dept and ask.
