I've heard from a well-known insider that something is in the works...it might be Malou-esque.
So there is a question as to whether Steve Prohm actually exists?
If Beilein gets fired, which is looking possible at this point, Jaime would be stupid not to at least call and see if there would be any interest. The possibility is ridiculously slim but one would need to do the due diligence.
You realize that if a donor earmarked the money for a specific project it has to be used for that project right?

It is Pollards fault. He had an out last spring. Hoiberg put Nebby on hold watching the ISU situation. Bama had eyes on Prohm (ended up with Oates). This could have happened. Pollard chose Prohm over Freddy, plain and simple.

Pfft. When has hiring a former Michigan coach ever worked out for us?
I agree Fred was good but he wasn't great. We had glaring deficiencies while he was here too, though I would take that level of team back in a heart beat. If Prohm under performed with his players, then so did Fred.
Surely there is someone who would just take him off our hands for us, ala Creighton and McDermott? Just ask Cyclone Twitter--there are some pretty awesome stats we can drum up to show what a great job he's done here!
It's that, and it ticks some people off. Kind of two birds with one stone here.
I think there are two flaws in this consideration.
A) Fred took over a terrible program. The cupboard was entirely bare. He has to start from scratch. Steve took over a very good program, stocked with very good players. He inherited a Top 10 preseason team. There was returning talent.
B) We knew Fred's weakness would lie in the in-game coaching. He had never coached. I think we all expected a learning curve there, but he was bringing in talent that could cover some of that up.
Prohm had experience coaching. He was a "proven winner". He was supposed to take the groundwork Fred had laid and maybe fill in some of the gaps that existed due to Fred's lack of coaching experience. That has not happened.
Well if the best winning pct in program history doesn’t qualify as better than “good”, I guess that speaks to our program.
I have nothing to back it up other then what I have heard, but the people I've heard it from have some connections, and the story lines up/makes sense.
It's not true. Prohm was Pollard's choice. And what exactly does "the story lines up/makes sense" mean?
No he didn’t. Fred is not coming back.
